Dude it’s the SOUTHLAND conference. He’s a great recruiter “for that particular league”. That’s it nothing more. His record says all. NO sweet 16s. Some of you act like he’s the second coming of Calipari. He didn’t even win that big at LSU BEFORE he got caught on the wire tap

Although sanctions aren't a guarantee. Just like Kelvin Sampson, the thing that Wade got in trouble for is now legal.

Yes. I got the result I was hoping for. We already likely have a low chance of getting him, but if he had gone on a run then it would be 0%. He has at least shown he can dominate a weak conference. More often than not he makes the NCAA tournament. He's done it at lower-tier programs and at a football school. And let's not forget LSU has never played in an NCAA championship. They are 0-4 in the Final Four. 0-6 if you include third place games. It could be argued that being hired at Memphis would be the best basketball program he's ever been at.

We’ve had plenty of chances to hire good coaches after calipari left but for some reason we want to turn our noses up and torpedo the hire whether it’s media or fan backlash or whatever. Could have had Scott drew here instead of Pastner and Pearl instead of Tubby.

one of these years, Penny is going to develop into a solid coach and lead us into the Sweet 16. We just have to keep believing…. some coaches don’t come into their prime for 15-20 years.

We reached out to several coaches, but no one wanted the job.

It was a no win situation
