RE: 2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Thread
I see that Iowa is a slight favorite against LSU, which surprised me. LSU is a bad match up for Iowa, with LSU having a big size advantage, so LSU expects to have a big rebounding advantage. Iowa needs to shoot the ball really well or else it will be a struggle for Iowa to win.

I imagine the thinking is Iowa is a lot more similar to their team last year than LSU is to theirs (lost a lot to matriculation and the WNBA draft).

IMO the game can go either way, like the UCLA game could have.

The draw certainly didn't set up easy for LSU to repeat. Two games in their region that could have been F4 games.

RE: 2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Thread
Saw a few places UConn's favored over USC. I don't believe it the way UConn has played all year vs. ranked opponents. Might be respect for Geno and because Juju's a freshman but clearly USC's the better team.

NC State up big vs. Texas. Lots of upsets on South Carolina's side of the draw. I have a feeling no one wants to play them:)

With only two regional finals on Sunday ESPN could certainly schedule its two women's finals so there's little to no overlap with the men's finals but either they'd have to schedule them both on ESPN (and have Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN2), have one regional final on ABC at noon ET before the men's finals and the other on ESPN in prime time, or just air them in prime time and pre-empt American Idol one week. Maybe ABC should air the women's championship in prime time on ABC or move the semifinals to ABC (does ABC really care what they air on Friday night?)

I think ESPN is gonna get great numbers tomorrow night.

LSU started out with Haily Van Lith guarding Caitlin Clark and that did not work out at all for LSU. LSU now making a run of its own. Iowa up 26-23. 2 minutes left in 1Q

Caitlin Clark's nemesis Angel Reese picks off her passes twice for fast break points the other way.

45-45 at half.

These two teams are electrifying. You can cut the tension with a knife.

People forget that last year's national championship was a blowout. Hopefully this game will be more competitive.

Caitlin Clark has been struggling with 3 pointers in recent games. If she's getting hot, this game will get ugly.

LSU looks defeated… all but over. Great 1st half but ugly finish looks like.

Fun game

If she needs a second gig, [/i]Tony Bennett needs to hire Caitlin Clark as a shooting coach

probably doesn't decide the game, but the 5th foul on Reese was absolute trash.
