lol, it's like math...order of operations

Grizz choose first, then the Tigers pick their dates, and then concerts/events can pick their dates.

clt says that sounds like an issue. it is nice to have control of our on campus arena. we choose first

Who goes first ... Womens basketball, mens basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, practices, graduation .... glee club, band practices, inter-mural badminton, dodgeball, gym classes ...

It is a legitimate question. For example; CLT men's basketball, women's basketball, and women's volleyball have overlapping schedules. Who has priority? Do they discriminate against women?

At Memphis, women bb and vb each have their own facility.

clt says we have our first on campus facility as a backup if needed. you can walk there from Halton in 5 mins

According to CLT's own website (Source)...

"Opened in 1996, the James H. Barnhardt Student Activity Center (SAC)/Halton Arena contains the playing arena for the 49ers Men's and Women's Basketball and Volleyball Programs. The arena is a multiuse facility that regularly hosts concerts, exhibits and special events. Halton Arena is also the host for the Winter/Spring Commencement Ceremonies. "

And

"The Charles Hayward Memorial Practice Court is located on the ground level of Halton Arena and reserved for Charlotte 49ers Student-Athletes only. The Volleyball, Men's and Women's Basketball teams regularly hold practice sessions in the facility."

Men's basketball held all its 2023-24 games except one at Halton. The venue also hosted all Women's basketball and Women's volleyball 2023-2024 games.
https://charlotte49ers.com/sports/womens...edule/2023
https://charlotte49ers.com/sports/mens-b...l/schedule
https://charlotte49ers.com/sports/womens...l/schedule

Conclusion:
1. You stated in a previous post "graduation is at our on campus football stadium". In fact, graduations are held at Halton - including the one this May (https://commencement.charlotte.edu)

2. You stated in in a previous post that the order of FedEx scheduling (including concerts /events) priority "sounds like an issue" compared to CLT because CLT goes first when in fact Halton hosts more potential functions causing possible conflicts.

3. Unlike Memphis, CTL has to prioritize game and practice scheduling at Halton between women's and men's sports. To the extent men's basketball takes priority, it represents discrimination against women.

Recommendation:
CLT should build separate facilities for women's BB and VB like Memphis.

clt says not so fast my friend, they must have moved it back to Halton this year but it was previously in the on campus football stadium https://campusevents.charlotte.edu/event..._1_pm_9624

we will occasionally have double headers with wbb and mbb, always a fun time

Belk Gym was our on campus home during our non vacated final four run in 77. it could easily hold a vb or wbb game

we also have bojangles coliseum (yum) and the spectrum center if needed in an extreme situation

no issues here, pal

clt says let's talk about practice now. our practice facility is attached to Halton. if mbb, wbb, and vb needed to practice at the same time we would have no issues. the upper deck seats can retract back exposing basketball courts

You are correct, it is MUCH less discriminatory to say “you women can play here where the other women play, but not at the nice NBA venue that the men play at”.

The women play at FedEx occasionally. I am not aware of any barriers to playing at FedEx more often, but a smaller, cozier arena makes sense for them.

I am not chasing the rabbit.

You posted Memphis has unique issues working with FedEx Forum for dates without consideration for facts or recognition of the benefits which vastly exceed any scheduling issues even if they actually existed.

You were caught and corrected. In fact, the Tigers have a remarkably good scheduling relationship with the Griz and CLT has more conflicts impacting their sports scheduling at Halton than Memphis does at FedEx. Now you attempt to escape culpability through straw man construction.

Normally I ignore your posts, but occasionally I will hold particularly deficient and baiting comments accountable at the time of my choosing. Carry on......

clt says we will agree to disagree, pal. clt believes that scheduling at an on campus facility that we own will be easier than an nba arena.

if we play at spectrum, we realize that the hornets and great concerts like nickie manij will have priority in scheduling

If Memphis playing in the FedExForum for the past 20 years hasn't caused a single scheduling conflict, then what exactly is your point?
