RE: This whole thing is Obama's fault
It’s so rare that I agree with anything Kruciff says. So I’ll gladly acknowledge this is one such instance.

If Obama had treated Trump with respect, let him stay at the White House a few times, posed for photos in front of a Trump hotel, appointed him to some of those “President’s Council on Blah-Blah-Blah” committees, etc., there is no doubt whatsoever that Trump would’ve been an Obama supporter, and would never have gotten into the 2016 campaign.

And I think Obama knows it.

RE: This whole thing is Obama's fault
Barack Obama will go down in history as the greatest waste of potential. I didn’t vote for him, but I understood the pride in seeing him win the presidency. It showed America is the land of opportunity that all but the true America hater knew we were. What other country with democratic (not authoritarian) elections has ever elevated a minority to its highest office?

Yet instead of rising to the moment, the lazy, resentful opportunist immediately turned to divisiveness. “Elections have consequences.” “If I had a son …”. “They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion.”

What a useless p.o.s. I defer to Smitty’s more colorful imagination regarding what he deserves.

Obama could've -- and should've -- been a transcendant president in the sense that his administration could've shown the world that no matter who you were or what your background was, it was possible for you to rise to the highest office of the land. Instead, he took to social engineering, class warfare, and pursued policies that divided our country in many ways, including race, ethnicity, and class/social status. In fact, I was watching a reel on Facebook a while back and I think it was Charlie Kirk who said that the closest we've ever come to reaching MLK's dream of racial harmony was in 2013, then suddenly, all the bullcrap we've been seeing happen started, and the legacy media outlets perpetuate the narrative that we are the worst country to ever exist when Obama's own election disproves that. (And yes, Obama himself created and exacerbated a lot of the racial divide we see today.)

Oh, and Obama should've been defeated in 2012. Romney didn't even try to campaign against him. He cared more about getting the GOP nomination than actually campaigning against Obama. Hence DJT in 2016, as stinkfist would say.

Curious why/how the specific year 2013 was chosen for that distinction? FWIW, the racial/political drama over Trayvon Martin started when he died on February 26, 2012.

America was not ready for a black president. There were too many civil rights activists around that wanted vengence for MLK and Malcom X. Boy did they get it alright.

Yes, you're right. I think the year was used because it was the beginning of Obama's second term.
