It becomes relevant to the AAC b.c IF this happens, it will cause a coaching carousel tsunami that will eventually bubble down to us.

Rather than me posting a lot of tweets, just go to Rupp's Rafters and read the reactions, lol. They happy. They will be devastated if it falls through, lol.

This article emphasizes how much this hire would shake up the CBB coaching ranks. Did Dusty May jump too early?

ehh whatever. Calipari is nobody now. Kentucky wants him gone anyway. What's he going to do, take his circus to Arkansas for one and dones in the portal era. Who cares.

The world is not the same anymore Johnny.

The issue is that UK will then take a big coach from somebody else, and that will continue filtering down and maybe affect one or more of our schools.

And there are UK recruits that might decommit, or current players who might enter the portal.

Not to mention the fun it is reading Rupp's Rafters right now. They want Calipari gone so bad, and they will implode if the deal falls through, lol. That is always fun to watch.

One possible implication is the availability of high schooler Billy Richmond - a Tiger scion. I believe Richmond signed with KY rather than Memphis mainly due to NIL money.

RE: OT, but word is out Calipari may leave UK for Arkansas
It’s not OT according to Trilly Donovan (a pretty well connected college basketball source even if no one is sure of his true identity). Donovan claims Eric Musselman basically orchestrated this whole chain of events by getting Rob Lanier fired at SMU.

Musselman is well connected to some big SMU donors, and laid the groundwork for the Lanier firing. And then suggested SMU go after Enfield, which led to him getting the USC job (and the Arkansas job being open).

Maybe Musselman helped Rice fire Pera too, but I think Scott Pera didn’t need any help there.

And if any of you believe that I have a collapsible bridge to sell you.

The only truth is that SMU is totally responsible for beginning this chain of events with the Enfield hire.

And, FWIW, the billionaire responsible for bringing Calipari to Arkansas is…..are you ready for this?…..drumroll please…..AN SMU graduate.

The math involved:
chicken tenders> goaltenders.

Did NIL neutralize Calipari's UK competitive advantage?

IMO, NIL is an equalizer force for schools with generous, wealthy boosters. For example, Rice would quickly become a FB and BB powerhouse upon tapping the rich vein of available resources. It just takes the will to do it. Rice is a sleeping giant. Time to awake.

Rice is very far down the line. Connections yes. The will? Nyet.

Kitty Litter is the most fun place in the whole world. lol

From the Kitty Cats two minutes ago:

"Look, we're going to learn a LOT over the next few days .... the guy was a POS.

I have a friend who is on the board at the country club in Memphis where Cal was a member .... he stiffed them on a massive bill and over $50k in gambling debts when he bounced to UK. That's just a tiny example of who he is behind the scenes."

Tulane stirred from its slumber. Rice can emulate.

Rice has it's priorities straight, imo. This current NIL dynamic is going to eventually collapse in on itself.
