A couple times down the floor the UConn guard looked like he took 3 steps before dribbling but maybe he was just really fast dribbling.

They let Edey get away with a massive shove last time he scored. They really need to have some consistency in the tourney how games are called.

...I'm not sure if 'travelling/walking' is even a infraction anymore - I watched quite a few games in the tourney, and it wasn't called ONCE, ANYWHERE... although a boatload of times it could have...

Traveling was called multiple times in this game alone

...well, full disclosure - I didn't get to watch much of this game, so... ...nevermind... 03-drunk03-lmfao ...but let's say on AVERAGE, seems like it's not called nearly as much as it used to be...

I thought Nantz was supposed to do the trophy presentation.

UNC won their first in 1957. UConn won theirs in 1999.

That's basically a title every 4 years. It doesn't get much more dominant than that. Only UCLA of the 60s-70s is better.

And they did it with 3 different coaches. K won one fewer in the same amount of years by comparison. Incredible.

It has been 8771 days since the B1G last won the hoops title.

I shall ponder the defeat of the ponderous and reflect upon the quarter century of futility.

UConn has a lot of which to be proud!

Rupp won 4 at UK from 1948-1958 and if not for the point shaving scandal and the NCAA boycotting UK in '53 and ruling players on an unbeaten '54 team ineligible at the last minute (#1 in AP poll), it might have been 6. And UK won the '46 NIT at a time when it was equivalent to the NCAA.

Perhaps we should revisit the debate on whether UConn joining the Big East was the right thing to do for both the Big East and UConn. 05-stirthepot03-rotfl

BTW, my prediction was UConn by 15 to 20 points. And yes I had them winning my bracket 04-rock ... over Houston 04-bolt

No, we should revisit the debate on whether rejecting UConn was the right thing for the ACC. Not much of a debate anymore.

RE: NCAA Basketball Championship Game: UConn vs Purdue
Congrats to UConn and to all the classy Husky fans who post on this board (and, in particular, Nameless). UConn was simply outstanding in the tourney from start to finish. Hypothetically, you could put Zach Edey on the roster of Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, Duke, Houston or N.C. State and have that team play UConn — and that team would still lose to the Huskies.

I was a bit skeptical that Dan Hurley would do this well in Storrs. He clearly proved me wrong.

And congrats to Purdue for a great season. The Boilermakers gave it their best shot. But no team would have beaten UConn last night.

UCONN fans should send a big thank you to SDSU. Each time we have made at least the Sweet 16, they have won the championship: 2011, 2014, 2023, & 2024.

That's a stever20-esque stat. Interesting.

Their Texas streak ended, but Sun Belt streak continued.
UConn's first title was in St. Petersburg. This one in Glendale. In between, they won in San Antonio, Houston, Arlington and Houston.
