I just looked at Patrick's stats at Wabash. Woof!

Where on earth does a guy who can't play D3 football get the gonads to sound off like this? He's lucky he was able to find his way onto our roster.

His lone collegiate highlight is a 9 yard reception against Hiram College.

He seems like he was always right there ready to see the field then someone kind of stepped over him. Former QB and he seemed athletic enough. I wish him well.

I get the perspective of "earn your way". But from the players perspective if just as equally, the coach brings in players who automatically jump to front of the line because they started and played at a lower division, what incentive is there for an underclassman to stick around to "wait for their turn" when they can potentially play immediately elsewhere?

Tough to blame players for leaving in this transfer portal environment.

I don't think he's chasing NIL but more so playing time somewhere. His X feed says he's a grad transfer, so good for him to get his degree.

If I had to guess, Drew was lightly recruited and NIU was probably his only FBS offer.

Not that big of a statement. Not as aggressive as Jay Ducker or Connor Neville.

But he will be telling his grandkids about that 9 yard reception.

Not at all, more of a compliment to Drew. I think Drew is a good player, but we had some talented TEs whose combination was just slightly better. We lined Grayson up at TE often, he had 23 catches last year with 5 touchdowns - that's pretty damn good. Carter 6'7 240 had 12 catches, Tewes has made some plays in the passing game and is most likely a better blocker. Again, I think Drew can play, there is talent there, it just did not work out for him here, wishing him the best.

There’s a scholarship for a transfer qb. But knowing how hammock works, it will go to a walk on that won’t ever see the field

He was the 4th QB to play in the spring showcase and he did not look good at all. I was hoping he'd leave to open up a scholarship for a transfer QB.
