Some players from schools playing their spring game this weekend have already announced they are hitting the portal. Gonna be an interesting next couple of weeks! I don't know how the coaches keep up with this mess.

Louisville has 4 OL and a DL hit the portal already.

This is insane...way too many options to jump...

Is this current window the one that closes in May...and the final one until Dec?

I believe this one runs until May 1. and yes, next one wouldn't start until next December.

Anyone know if the roster is at capacity right now? I thought I remember hearing that there were some open spots.

Chesney said that he'd have a better idea of what this team might need once the spring portal opens (not exact words). There will be some quality players out there. Hopefully we won't lose any. If we do, it will probably be due to someone wanting more play time elsewhere.

This whole transfer portal thing is just nuts

According to ESPN, after 1 day there were 300 players in the portal.
That's just ridiculous.

Slow start for sure, but many programs haven't had their spring game yet, and coaches that have had their spring game are just now giving some players the "you may want to test the portal" talk. I expect things will pick up soon.

Just remember, it’s never about us. All about them.

In 3 years, we can look back at the 100 players who passed through JMU on their way to suiting up for another school. I might need to get some more TVs so I can keep track of them all on saturdays.

You can't blame a kid for chasing the money or making moves that might increase his chances of playing at the next level. However I can say that with every kid that leaves I have less and less interest in following JMU teams. I've already switched all of my donation away from the Duke Club and toward other areas of the university.

How long until we see Ponds in the portal? I'm guessing that happens in the next 24 hours.
