We definately need a mod here -- who's up for it?

- bigolhawg - 05-21-2003 11:25 PM

I'll throw my hat into the ring.

Hell, I'm game, but would it mean that I have to be "Moderate"?

I would think a moderator can argue as vehemently as always. Just try to keep things civil. Or a modicum of civility anyway.

I think there needs to be a mod here as well. I just want to be super careful in making sure it is someone who can seperate themselves from their affiliations......

Difficult task at hand.

LRRH makes an excellent point. For this forum, the moderator definitely needs to be able to maintain objectivity even if he/she is diametrically opposed to some points of view, and needs to be able to draw the line in messy discussions evenly. This person also needs to be able to know the difference between ending a discussion that has run its course and being a lock-Nazi (we all have experienced those in our posting careers on other boards).

Carry on...

I guess that counts me out!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

I think one person of the left persuasion and one of the right working together would keep things fair. And I havent seen anything on this forum that really got out of hand, most discussions have been quite civil, and the smack talking has been innocent and non-offensive.

A moderator is needed so that if this stuff should start happening it can be controlled, but I dont see a whole lot of work needing to be done to keep things within board policies.

People should feel free to express their opinions (in a civil tounge) and so far it has been pretty well mannered. Like bigolhawg said one from both ends of the spectrum working together would be a good thing to keep things from getting out of hand.

Um, Roy, um see here was my earlier post. Not thinkin' those two could handle this part of the deal.....

- bigolhawg - 05-23-2003 10:13 AM

Affiliations shouldnt matter too much. This forum is a smack talk of sorts for politics, so IMO anything goes as long as its not offensive or vulgar. Unless some troublemakers move in, this group of posters has kept things innocent enough that a mod has not been needed.
