Rashaun Grant is a running back prospect from Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson High School. Grant, 5-10 and 180 pounds, rushed for 1,110 yards and 22 scores last season. He also caught 30 passes for 400 yards and 5 scores. Grant wants more this season.

"I feel like I am ready for a big season," said Grant. "My goal is to be
more productive and win a state championship."

Over the summer, Grant camped at Auburn. Two weeks ago he visited the University of Florida.

"They showed me around and it was nice up there. Florida is recruiting me as a running back."

In regards to recruiting, Grant is open but he has narrowed down his favorite choices some. I like Florida, FSU, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

"I love Florida State's style of football and they play with a lot of intensity. I love the combination of academics and athletics that Georgia Tech has. We run the same offense as Oklahoma and I love how they spread the field and throw to the back. Tennessee just likes to pound the ball and they have produced a lot of great backs lately."

Grant has received scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, Northwestern, UConn, North Carolina, West Virginia, Clemson, South Florida, Purdue, Kansas, Auburn, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wisconsin.
