The SEC does not have a rule against intra-conference transfers.

Maybe this is only for football -- or maybe I'm just majorly crossing some wires here -- but I thought it was that you have to sit out one year if it's to a different conference and two years if it's a transfer within a conference.
Then again, I think you can walk on and play immediately.

I also thought I'd heard that the extra year can be waived if the first school agrees to it, though -- for transfers within a conference, I mean.

Actually, since UK booted him off the team I don't think this even qualifies as a typical transfer. UK forfeited their ownership of Parker as soon as they kicked him off the team and yanked his scholly.

Good point. I think that means he should be allowed to play right away. I know it won't happen, but that should be a rule because once again, it is not a typical transfer.

You still have to sit out 1 year for changing schools, whether or not it is a transfer.

I know that is the rule. I just don't think that it should be. If a guy leaves on his own accord, I can see the logic in him sitting out. That way, people can't just transfer all over the place. But, if he's kicked out, I think he should be allowed to play right away.

Then you'll have guys who get tired of one place and start acting up and breaking team rules just so they can get kicked off the team and go elsewhere.
