Participation in a third of Florida State's spring football practices was not enough for D'Vontrey Richardson (D'Vo as the fans call him) to seriously enter the quarterback competition.
But offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher said he's had no problem with the arrangement that had the two-sport athlete spending most of his time with the baseball team. Richardson said he has participated in five or six football practices since spring football began on March 16. Until Saturday's game at N.C. State, Richardson had been starting in center field for Mike Martin's No. 1-ranked Seminoles.
