Unfortunately, that first single kind of misses for me. I hope that's not an ominous sign. I hope that's not an ominous sign. I haven't heard any tunes from them for this cd yet. RE: AC/DC Black Ice 411 - PirateTreasureNC - 10-24-2008 10:59 PM I bought it today.... sounds like.... AC/DC :D RE: AC/DC Black Ice 411 - dynovinyl - 10-26-2008 12:13 AM My wife bought the record for me today and I must say, it sounds so much better on the cd in the car than it did streaming it off their website. Overall, it's a decent record. I don't expect any big-hits will spawn from this collection, but it has it's moments. As usual there's some great guitar stuff going on. Unfortunately, the record doesn't do itself any favors by getting stuck in a mid-tempo rut. In general, the sound reminds me of the mid-80s stuff, which isn't the best, but I'll take it. RE: AC/DC Black Ice 411 - PirateTreasureNC - 10-26-2008 04:38 PM Yeah, it sounds like.... "AC/DC"... their style hasn't changed to much...more of the same. Its not a bad disc....just not groundbreaking for them in anyway...and I was hoping for a little more considering the long hiautus of the band. RE: AC/DC Black Ice 411 - dynovinyl - 10-31-2008 11:53 PM Black Ice is the first AC/DC record to debute at Number 1 and the first to hit number one since 1981's For Those About to Rock. In the first week it sold 784,000 copies in the US alone, which is the second highest opening week this year (Little Wayne). Not that I care how popular the bands I like are, I'm happy for AC/DC and happy that they beat out Metallica's opening week. Even AC/DC's back catalog is selling well, moving 92,000 combined copies. Crazy. Citation: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003878705 BTW, I was telling my coworker that AC/DC debuted at number one, beating out the High School Musical 3 soundtrack, to which he replied "That's the difference between an allowance and a paycheck." I found that humorous. Crazy. Nice one! And you also forgot to mention that Wal Mart is the exclusive retailer for the cd! Well, on beating Metallica, AC/DC has a larger fan base than Metallica does...but both are good works. I was just getting tired of hearing about Metallica's new record. I didn't anticipate AC/DC topping Metallica's sales. Plus there's that whole whiny Lars Ulrich thing.
