2009 over 2008 when 2008 had Donald Brown, Butler, and Beatty?

RE: Questions for each fanbase - roofrog - 02-14-2011 05:29 PM

1. 2010-11 Rose Bowl Champions
2. Probably the 2004 team only team not to go to a bowl game during the Patterson era
3. This is really a tough one... I am gonna say Wisconsin because they are fresh on my mind but I am sure one of the OU or UT teams we played may were ranked higher, in fact Boise was ranked higher last year but I am still going with Wisconsin.
4. The great LT
5. This is tough I am gonna say DE Aaron Schobel but there have been many.

RE: Questions for each fanbase - tcufrog86 - 02-14-2011 05:45 PM

For TCU
1. 2010-2011
2. 2004
3. I would say the 08 Oklahoma team we played in Norman
4. LT
5. Daryl Washington IMO

RE: Questions for each fanbase - 1845 Bear - 02-14-2011 05:52 PM

TCU fans-

Really 2010 over 2009? I understand the undefeated thing but barely losing to Boise vs barely beating Wisky is a wash IMO. I gotta think Jerry Hughes, Daryl Washington, and Newhouse make you better off.

I wouldn't call winning the Rose Bowl versus losing the Fiesta Bowl a wash no matter who the opponent is!

Rose bowl has a lot of tradition and is a big win regardless but in terms of which team is better I would certainly say losing a close game to an unbeaten team is comparable to winning a close game against a 1 loss team coming in.

Here are my picks for Syracuse

1- 1998 team overall, but even they lost a couple they shouldn't have
2- Ugh! 2005's 1 win team
3- 2001 Miami Hurricanes, best team of the BCS era, imho
4- McNabb
5- Freeney

Cheers,
Neil

Probably not going to get a unanimous answer from USF fans, but these are my opinions:

Your school's best team since the BCS started in 1998 - 2007 (the year we reached #2 in the BCS standings). Three consecutive conference losses (@ Rutgers by 3, @ UConn by 7 and Cincinnati by 5) killed the momentum of winning @ Auburn and top 5 WVU, and the bowl beat down by Oregon doesn't look so shocking in light of how strong the Ducks have been since that year

Your school's worst since 1998 - 2004 without question. This was the season when it really became apparent that Leavitt was game planning for early season games. We had a season opener scheduled vs. Pitt that we were clearly gearing up for, and when Hurricane Frances caused that game to be postponed, it screwed up those plans and set the tone for a tailspin from which USF didn't recover.

Best team your school played against - Tough call, but I'd put 2002 Oklahoma (who won the Rose Bowl) slightly over 2004 Louisville (who beat Boise in the Liberty Bowl).

Best player on offense for your school - Best player FOR us would have to have been Matt Grothe. For most gifted player, I'd probably give the nudge to Andre Hall over DeAndrew Rubin.

Best player on D - While I considered Mike Jenkins, Anthony Henry, Nate Allen and Kawika Mitchell, I've always thought J. R. Reed was our best player on D.

Yes. We massively underacheived in 2008 because of 1-AA talent at QB and WR. That was our most talented team, but not our best team. We also had severe special teams issues.

We found a horizontal attack in 2009 and were in every game we played. We also found a legit #1 receiver and a tight end.

2003 was also considered. Neither of our conference co-champion teams (2007, 2010) were considered.

1. Either 2005 or 2007 (BCS bowls - I'd go with 2005 myself, but there are good arguments for 2007 as well)
2. 2001 (RR's first season at WVU)
3. Miami's 2001 National Championship team
4. QB Pat White (won 4 bowl games - 'nuf said)
5. DT Chris Neild

RE: Questions for each fanbase - Lonestar Lizard - 02-14-2011 07:10 PM

For TCU:

1. 2010 at 13-0
2. 2004 at 5-6
3. LaDanian Tomlinson
4. Tommy Blake

Go!

1 - probably a surprise to most, but i liked this year's 8-5 team over any of our 9-4 teams. Seemed the most balanced, least gimmicky. And was competitive in every game (even Florida for a while). Edges out 2006 team.

Can't say 2007 because can't forget shellacking by Oregon

2 - 2004. 4-7 in C-USA says it all.

3 - 2002 Oklahoma

4 - Hate to say it, but Matt Grothe (which tells you something about the quality of our offenses ...).

5 - i like George Selvie

You ask and you got my opinion, I think the 2010 team was better than the 2009 team. Both very good teams, but all the senior experience on 2010 made them better IMO. Plus the experience of losing the Fiesta Bowl really made some players hungry in 2010.

I agree with everything, but i would say the 2001 team was the best since they won a bowl game.

Go!
1 - Tie between the 2002 and 2009 team
2 - 1998 2-9 team (Walt Harris' 2nd year)
3 - 2001 Miami team
4 - Larry Fitzgerald
5 - Darrelle Revis

RE: Questions for each fanbase - Blitz0921 - 02-15-2011 03:40 AM

Cincinnati Bearcats

2009 Team for me. Almost undefeated and a shot at the National Title.

2010 Sadly. So much hype and such high expectations lead to a severe disappointment.

Best team we faced was Florida in the 2010 Sugar Bowl. Tim Tebow's last game. Ouch haha

Without a doubt Mardy Gilyard

Either Connor Barwin (Texans) or Haruki McNamara (Ravens).

RE: Questions for each fanbase - SuperFlyBCat - 02-15-2011 10:15 AM

Bearcats,

2009 Team 12-1

1999 Team, beat Wisconsin and kept them from the Championship game, but only won 3 games.

Best Team, 2002 Ohio State team who beat Miami in the Championship game. (we have OSU alot)

Gilyard

Trent Cole, All Pro Defensive End for The Eagles.

RE: Questions for each fanbase - CardinalSpirit - 02-15-2011 01:18 PM

1- 2006, 12-1 (6-1 BE), conference & Orange Bowl champions
2- 2009, 4-8 (1-6, Big East), 3rd-straight year without bowling
3- OT win over Florida State (2002) in hurricane weather
4- Historically, Johnny Unitas. BCS era, maybe Brian Brohm
5- I'd say Amobi Okoye (who chose Louisville over Harvard)
