Syracuse is going to be in a conference where 5 star, football, recruits are a regularity.

Ogundeko better not spurn us for Notre Dame or Florida. We're going to need all the help we can get. Hopefully Chandler Jones and Dwight Freeney stay in his ear until signing day.

I wouldn't say this is a regularity at VT. He is the second highest ranked recruit here all time. He is 3rd vs 1st for Kevin Jones.

Here's how ESPN reckons the top 150 recruits went last year:

Rank - Player - POS - State - College
1 - Mario Edwards - DE - TX - FSU
10 - Eddie Golman - DT - DC - FSU
<11 = end of 5 stars; 12-150 are all 4 stars>
13 - Stephon Diggs - ATH - MD - Maryland
14 - Jameis Winston - QB - AL - FSU
15 - Travis Blanks - S - FL - Clemson
18 - Tracy Howard - CB - FL - Miami
23 - Chris Casher - DE - AL - FSU
26 - Rushel Shell - RB - PA - Pitt
35 - Randy Johnson - ATH - FL - Miami
38 - Ronald Darby - CB - MD - FSU
41 - Angelo Jean-Louis - WR - FL - Miami
72 - Mario Pender - RB - FL - FSU
76 - Marvin Bracy - WR - FL - FSU
81 - Germone Hopper - WE - NC - Clemson
83 - Joel Caleb - ATH - VA - Va Tech
84 - Chad Kelly - QB - NY - Clemson
89 - Jay Guillermo - OC - TN - Clemson
96 - Tyriq McCord - DE - FL - Miami
101 - Deon Bush - S - FL - Miami
114 - Justin Shanks - DT - AL - FSU
115 - Patrick Destefano - OT - SC - Clemson
116 - Ukeme Eligwe - ILB - GA - FSU
124 - Eli Harold - DE - VA - Virginia
133 - P J Williams - S - FL - FSU
134 - Carlos Watkins - DT - NC - Clemson
145 - Malcolm Lewis - WR - FL - Miami

That's 26 of the top 150, or 17.3%
FSU alone got 10/150 = 6.7%
breakdown by team:
FSU - 10
Clemson - 6
Miami - 6
Maryland - 1
Pitt - 1
Va Tech - 1
Virginia - 1

By the way, the new ACC has 14 teams;
14 out of 124 FBS teams is or 11.3%
So the ACC is getting more than its "share" of top 150 players

Having said all that, there are typically only a dozen players rated as 5 stars every year, and probably most of them end up being busts; 4 star and 3 star is where games are actually won (just don't fill up on 2 stars).
