The Banks will have a new tenant in April of 2013.

The Banks' master development team of Carter and The Dawson Company and equity partner USAA announced Thursday that Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches is opening a new location.

Jimmy John's will occupy 1,147 square feet on the south block of Freedom Way.

"The addition of Jimmy John's helps round out the ‘something for everyone' atmosphere at The Banks," said Scott Stringer, executive vice President at Carter. "It will be another great option for those who are downtown looking for lunch or something quick."

With this addition, Phase 1A of The Banks project has only two retail spaces still available for occupancy and is now 89 percent leased.

Open retail establishments are The Holy Grail, Tin Roof, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Johnny Rockets, Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill, Orange Leaf, Crave, Mahogany's and the Police Welcome Center.

Signed but yet to open are The Wine Guy Bar & Bistro and Yard House Restaurant.

Retail at The Banks has already brought more than 300 new jobs to the region and $600 million in investment.

I suppose this is a good option with all the apartments right there. Everything else at the Banks is sit down dining. I keep waiting for a coffee shop to go in there.

I am guessing they will do a lot of delivery downtown. There used to be another location on E. 4th but it has since been closed. A lot of downtown businesses will cater in lunch for its staff and guests.

Yeah, I just work across the street from there. That Jimmy John's was clutch. Got it catered in a good amount too. Not my favorite place in the world but I'll take it all day long over subway for a quick sandwich.

I love Jimmy Johns, but I like every sandwich place that is not Subway, I can't stand Subway.
