Banowsky visits ODU and announces that they will become part of CUSA's TV package next season:

Old Dominion will be a part of Conference USA’s football television package next season, meaning some of the Monarchs' home games could be televised nationally, commissioner Brit Banowsky said Wednesday morning.
Banowsky said ODU’s six home games, all against FCS opponents, will be offered to the league’s television affiliates – the CBS Sports Network and Fox Sports Net – even though the Monarchs don’t begin playing a conference schedule until 2014.
Banowsky, who was in Hampton Roads to speak at the Portsmouth Sports Club Jamboree on Tuesday and to meet with ODU’s athletic staff Wednesday morning, said the networks choose which games they televise. However, he said conference officials will ask the networks to televise some ODU home games.
“As a conference member, we will offer all of their home games to our television partners,” he said.
“I don’t know how many will be televised, but I hope some will. They’ll have to opportunity to go down the waterfall and see how things shake out.”
Banowsky said ODU’s Aug. 31 opener at C-USA member East Carolina almost certainly will be televised by Fox or CBS.

Well duh... its @ ECU. Of course it would be televised on Fox/CBS. Adding ODU to the TV contract didn't make any difference on this game.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Old Dominion win the game. No smack, just my feeling about this one.

Neither App State or ODU are Division 2. This isn't ECU's basketball schedule.

honestly I think it smart to show ODU and Charlotte as much support and advantage as possible before they come into the conference as a playing member. The stronger they are when they come in the better for the conference and for competition when they land on conference scheduling.

Agreed. That's what conferences are for, despite the chest puffing of members fans.
