MWC TV deal finalized - CommuterBob - 03-07-2013 04:40 PM Quote:Brett McMurphy @McMurphyESPN So there's that. SO much for the MWC big payday from secondary TV rights. RE: MWC TV deal finalized - UHCougar - 03-07-2013 04:43 PM I know its wrong, and kharmas a beatch, but to all the people who kept howling for UH to join the MWC. After paying out Boise State, there won't be much more than a $1 million each. RE: MWC TV deal finalized - CommuterBob - 03-07-2013 04:50 PM Quote:Matt Sarzyniak @mattsarz Also makes me wonder how much room is actually on ESPN for all these games? ESPN now has every FBS conference except CUSA. NBCSN has no FBS football whatsoever. RE: MWC TV deal finalized - MWC Tex - 03-07-2013 04:52 PM Is that ESPN deal for the BSU games and the 2nd tier to be farmed out with NBC or ??? still? CCG included? CBS hold the rights to that. RE: MWC TV deal finalized - CommuterBob - 03-07-2013 04:53 PM Brett McMurphy @McMurphyESPN MWC deal w/ESPN: up to 22 football games (including all Boise State home games) & 25 men's hoops games annually RE: MWC TV deal finalized - CommuterBob - 03-07-2013 04:54 PM (03-07-2013 04:52 PM)MWC Tex Wrote: Is that ESPN deal for the BSU games and the 2nd tier to be farmed out with NBC or ??? still? Yes. It's for everything. See McMurphy's follow up tweet I just posted. RE: MWC TV deal finalized - PirateTreasureNC - 03-07-2013 04:55 PM ESPN blew their wad on all the conferences that matter to them. I'm guessing Fresno will be in one of those Boise bonus games so that would be 500K to us as well. Plus it seems only these boards care about the money, not regular fans, they just see that the old WAC and old CUSA are back together. The only news worth while is that we're back on ESPN, not just cbss and nbcs and comcast. So people will finally see us again and my bro in law won't have to purchase NBCS for a day to get me to go to my sis in law's birthday while Fresno is playing for a share of the MWC title. RE: MWC TV deal finalized - TrojanCampaign - 03-07-2013 04:57 PM Oh gosh I wonder where all the Wyoming fans have gone lmao. Those bonuses are internal to the conference, not from the TV partner. It's a way to pay those on TV more than those who do not get on TV. RE: MWC TV deal finalized - MWC Tex - 03-07-2013 05:00 PM Wait! Brian Murphy retweeted Jeremy Fowler @JFowlerCBS 1h Mountain West notified membership this week that secondary TV rights deal should. be completed soon, possibly next few days View details · So the CBS & ESPN is only for 1st tier RE: MWC TV deal finalized - Louis Kitton - 03-07-2013 05:01 PM Very interesting to see ESPN back on board with the MWC. It was ESPN's refusal to pay the MWC more than 7 million per year in TV rights back on 2005 that led to the formation of the Mountain Network. Most of the G5 is lined up in some capacity with ESPN MW: ESPN/CBS A12: ESPN/CBS MAC: ESPN CUSA: CBS/Fox SBC: ESPN The MAC is up next with a negotiating window starting in 2015. Could NBC come up with a big offer (15 million per year) for the MAC? RE: MWC TV deal finalized - HP-TBDPITL - 03-07-2013 05:05 PM A-12 hasn't negotiated a conf champ game yet, correct? And is their deal for 1st tier, 2nd tier....what are the comparisons?
