Huge if true. There goes any raid of the ACC by the B1G, SEC, or XII.

Screeeeeeech!!! There are the brakes on further realignment.

Someone will eventually challenge a GoR and then we'll see how ironclad they are. Until then, none of us know how well it will hold up. We all thought exit fees were enforceable until they weren't.

David Glenn (of the ACC Sport Journal) is as credible an ACC source as you'll come across. He was the first to break the Louisville story, as well.

ND signing this GOR = Stability.

Of course, stever will come along and tell me this doesn't mean a thing 05-nono

If FSU spent so much time and leverage to get Louisville into the ACC, I always wondered why their next move would be to leave the ACC... Seems like a pretty good conference now.

My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister conference commissioner has returned from Germany the league meetings bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep.

They have been challenged in court and generally held up. It's weird that people think these are new. However there are issues (you can't be an endentured servant). If it's like the Big Ten and Pac 12 GOR that includes all media rights, then it is pretty solid. If it's like the Big XII one, in which it does not include what we call Tier 3 rights, then it more or less only ties down the rank and file teams, similar to how the Big XII GOR ties down 6 or 7 of the teams, but not all ten.

Can confirm #ACC moving to grant of rights (first by @DavidGlennShow). League presidents are clearing with their legal departments.

Jeremy Fowler ‏@JFowlerCBS 34s
Correlation b/t GOR and potential ACC channel. No stipulation involved, but league feels this is another ingredient to help with channel

Wow, if true, ND and the ACC sure pulled a fast one on everybody (very quietly, too).

It appears to line up with the timing of ND's new deal with NBC and the ACC announcing ND's games with ACC schools.

Beginning with and including the announcement of the additions of Pitt and Syracuse, the ACC has been very tight-lipped. In fact, some of us knew something was "up" due to the amount of "silence" coming from the league.

Wow...go ACC!

RE: ACC Signs GOR- Yes, ND and FSU too. - stever20 - 04-22-2013 12:27 PM

wow this is huge..

maybe we are in what will be a period of really quiet activity. Without the ACC schools, nothing really there for the SEC or Big Ten to go after in general. Big 12 doesn't have the targets in my opinion that would make it worthwhile for the SEC/Big Ten. Don't see UConn or Cincy being viable for SEC or Big Ten.

Ya, we (UConn and Cincy) just have to hope the B12 expands now.
