Tyndall or White to Tulsa..... - panicstricken - 04-05-2014 06:24 PM

We are starting to hear some rumblings...

White would be a home run in the eyes of most Tulsa fans.

RE: Tyndall or White to Tulsa..... - techdawg88 - 04-05-2014 06:48 PM

White's not going anywhere (this offseason)

RE: Tyndall or White to Tulsa..... - UofMemphis - 04-05-2014 06:51 PM

everything I've seen says it will be someone like Bob Hoffman at Mercer or Joe Dooley at Florida Gulf Coast...

RE: Tyndall or White to Tulsa..... - techdawg88 - 04-05-2014 06:55 PM

don't know about Tyndall, but White is more of an SEC country guy

RE: Tyndall or White to Tulsa..... - AndreWhere - 04-05-2014 07:04 PM

Tyndall isn't going to Tulsa... ever... and if there were a USM fan that you could convince otherwise, it would be me. I'm well aware that the gulf between the AAC and CDOA is huge, much bigger than most people here would admit. That said, Tyndall isn't going to Tulsa

RE: Tyndall or White to Tulsa..... - TU 1978 - 04-05-2014 07:11 PM

It sure as heck won't be Hoffman or Dooley even though their self promotion is evident.

RE: Tyndall or White to Tulsa..... - T_Won1 - 04-05-2014 07:14 PM

If Tulsa is willing to pay 1.2 Million they could probably get either Tyndall or White. That's good money! That's "SEC money."

Most folks don't like lateral moves.

If it's not a P5 school, it's not worth the move.

Yeah.. who would want to play in a league with basketball teams that played in both the NCAA Championships and NIT Championships. 01-wingedeagle

you really expect Tulsa & ECU to compete with the top of the AAC right away?

Larry Eustacy left USM for Colorado State. Hell Donnie Tyndall left Morehead State for USM. So That type of thing happens, but that does not mean that it will. Dooley sounds realistic. He is actually a pretty good coach and he recruited that area for Kansas, so he will undoubtedly be a really good recruiter at Tulsa.

Tulsa much better shape than ECU. ECU is years away from being good. Tulsa however, is competitive right now. Plus recruiting will be easier n the AAC because of UConn, Memphis and Cincy. A three to five bid league has to have some attraction to it as a coach right.

U of L leaves. three bids max. Plus ecu and tulsa have been in the league with Memphis for how long???? If your not doing it year in and year out now your not going to.

I disagree with your assessment. IMO ECU would have been really good this year if they did not have so much attrition and even then ECU still finished with an overall winning record. It is all about ECU keeping kids.

and with all those upper AAC schools playing w/ 4 & 5 star athletes, Tulsa will be playing not at that same level right away

It took Eustacy years to build USM up to the point where you all are now. So it is not like USM has been doing this year in and year out. Others schools build over time too, so it can be done.

I think UConns win tonight has given the AAC some very important basketball credibility. This has to help the other teams in the league. I think 3 n reasonable to expect, and in good years 5.

Wait a minute. There were people on this board just 3 weeks ago talking about how CUSA schools could beat AAC schools like Memphis, SMU, UConn and Cincinnati. Now your statement is that Tulsa could not compete against those schools, because those schools will be playing with 4 and 5 star athletes. That is inconsistent reasoning, especially considering that Tulsa is CUSA's best team.
