Looks like Miss-Stake will be without Mullen for the Orange Bowl.

A lot of good bowl games this year.

List of ACC bowls.

Dec. 27 Military - Cincinnati vs. VT (1:00pm ESPN)
Dec. 27 Sun - ASU vs. Duke (2:00pm CBS)
Dec. 27 Independence - Miami vs. SC (3:30pm ABC)
Dec. 27 Pinstripe - BC vs. PSU (4:30pm ESPN)
Dec. 29 Russell Athletic - Clemson vs. Oklahoma (5:30pm ESPN)
Dec. 30 Music City - Notre Dame vs. LSU (3:00pm ESPN)
Dec. 30 Belk - Georgia vs. Louisville (6:30pm ESPN)
Dec. 31 Orange - Miss State vs. GT (8:00pm EPSN)

Non-playoff/non-ACC bowls that catch my eye.

Dec. 22 Miami Beach - BYU vs. Memphis (2:00pm ESPN)
Dec. 23 Boca Raton - Marshall vs. NIU (6:00pm ESPN)

RE: Open Thread - Bowls - Hokie Mark - 12-15-2014 10:23 AM

I was speaking to a friend of mine yesterday who has "cut the cord". He wanted to know which bowls he could watch without cable (i.e. ESPN). I told him "not many". The complete answer is:

Dec. 20 Las Vegas - Utah vs. Colorado State (3:30pm ABC)
Dec. 27 Sun - ASU vs. Duke (2:00pm CBS)
Dec. 27 Independence - Miami vs. SC (3:30pm ABC)
Jan. 1 Citrus - Minnesota vs. Mizzou (1:00pm ABC)

That's all - no playoffs, no "New Year's Six" bowls, and not much else... just four games remain on broadcast TV.

There might be 200 people at the Idaho Potato Bowl if you don't include the bands and players. So glad the ACC got the hell out of that bowl.

Three Florida football players, a borrowed car, no DL, three bags of pot and speeding equals no charges and no suspensions.

There were actually a lot more than that, but they were hard to see as everyone was sitting underneath the upper deck, since it was raining. Still a small crowd but not as bad as at first glance. It's still an odd place for a bowl game. The locals have to show up to get decent attendance which it does a lot of years. Didn't realize the ACC was ever in that bowl - an even stranger location for an ACC bowl.

Is that a Canes football game? Can't tell.

Wait, the empty seats are blue instead of orange...

Miami Beach Bowl was pretty good. Memphis kicker hit a 55 yd to force 2OT that would have been good from maybe 65.

And then an all out brawl between the teams after Memphis won on an interception. Tons of cheap shots from both sides. And a BYU player ripped a Memphis blanket/flag out of a fan's hands on the way to the locker room.

I imagine ESPN will be investigating to determine Jameis Winston's link to this...

One of the 3 was their QB who was suspended earlier this year after being accused of sexual assault. Not that I'm suggesting he is guilty (I haven't a clue), but you'd think ESPN, The New York Times and other media would eat this shlt up. They've proven that sensationalized headlines and misleading stories are more important than accuracy and truth.

I just would just think the Florida coach would call these three into the office, tell them how lucky they are that they weren't facing criminal charges and how stupid they are for riding around smoking pot. If they start trying to rationalize or make excuses he should point out that he wasn't born yesterday. Then he should suspend them from the team until they redeem themselves by showing some humility and maturity.

I'm not going to suggest what anybody should or shouldn't do. I don't know their history and if they're problem athletes or exemplary citizens (aside from that accusation I mentioned). I was mainly commenting on the trash that modern media has devolved into.

Everybody makes mistakes, but when you make a mistake, get caught and there are no consequences the wrong message is sent.

I understand. I didn't say they shouldn't face reprimand, just that I'm not going to pretend to know what is the right action because I don't know the players or their actions as well as those that are actually involved.

UNC defense is clearly improved without Vic Koennig... it took Rutgers all of 2:17 to score their first TD in the Quick Lane Bowl.

We are an embarrassment to the conference. If he didn't have 4 years left on his contract, Fedora should be fired.
