First games between my two favorite college football teams since 1950-51, when the Owls swept a home-and-home series. Rice won 14-7 at Pitt Stadium on 10/14/50, and won 21-13 at Rice Stadium on 11/3/51.

two teams both formerly coached by the infamous "Travelin'" Todd Graham.

Go Owls!

Pitt finalized its 2017 non-conference schedule today, adding a Sept. 30 game against Rice at Heinz Field.

The contest against the Owls, a one-game scheduling agreement, is added to the list of non-conference home games that also includes Youngstown State and Oklahoma State. Pitt also will play at Penn State in 2017.

In addition to its six ACC Coastal games and annual crossover game against Syracuse, the Panthers will host North Carolina State as its rotating crossover opponent in 2017.

This is cool. I think that's a nice addition to our non-conference schedule.

We both have fanbases that don't like Todd Graham, that's for sure.
