Schedule question - Ewglenn - 10-31-2017 07:05 AM

Why is it that LU only has 11 games this year?

FCS only allows 11 games. 2017 is the year that LU transitions out of FCS. In 2018, they will be transitioning into FBS and play 12 games. Transition completes prior to the 2019 season when LU will be a full-fledged FBS member.

The only real thing making you appear FCS is the fact that this year any FBS school you might have played could only count Liberty as FCS and towards their bowl eligibility. For example: Had Baylor defeated you, and Baylor also played JMU and beat us, then only one of the two victories would count towards the 6 necessary wins to go bowling. Whereas if you were in your second season of transition, and the same scenario, Baylor playing both Liberty and JMU and won both games, Baylor would have knocked down two of the 6 necessary wins to go bowling.
