I plan on going to the first two games.

You play NMSU twice? That is odd...

Is Liberty bowl eligible in 2018?

Liberty would be bowl eligible if there aren't enough bowl eligible teams to fill slots assuming LU was bowl eligible after ignoring their transitional status.

This seems like the best place to post, but it was mentioned on the NDS show that we have an 8yr agreement with Liberty and Army56Mike 10 years with Army.

Like Army, but will always root for UMass.

It benefits both schools for the agreement. Being Indy is difficult and there are so many different faces on the schedule. It will be nice to have a team that we will see yearly. Do you have dates for those games?

Only the 4 games officially released. It will be a couple of months before contracts are signed.

Cool. I'm excited to have a rivalry of sorts even if we aren't exactly what we want with each other.

I'm glad to have UMass on Liberty's schedule. It was good to have UMass in the MAC. Wish UMass was in the MAC for all sports.

ESPN picks Liberty to win 4.5 games this season and ranks us 117/130 teams.
Expected wins... Norfolk St., Idaho St., N.M. St. (H), and ODU is a toss up.
If we are somehow able to win 5 games I’m ecstatic!

I don’t think 5 will happen. I’ve been firm on the 4 win wagon. I think we split with NMSU and find someone that trips up by overlooking us (ODU or NM).

RE: 2018 Football Schedule - WesternSkillet - 04-06-2018 02:01 PM

I'm thinking 3-4 wins. I'm hoping this team can win the 2 FCS games. I'm very concerned about the defense. It did not look great against FCS teams in 2017.

I’m there too. I’m not sold that Idaho St is an auto win type of game. We have been way too up and down lately.

When do individual game tix go on sale? Brining my daughter to school in Aug and will stay in the area for the ODU game. I am sure those tix will sell out quickly. All I see are season tix sales so far.

I plan on going to the first two games.

Depends on if a coaching change happens but I'll do mine based on if Gill returns
ODU W they will start strong and ODU is meh
Army L they've got it together up there but this is assuming their coach stays
Norfolk st W
North Texas W home game
NM L
NMSU L two roads games in NM back to back ugh
Troy L see Army
Idaho State W
Umass L this is a toss up but I'll go with the home team
UVA L but competitive and scares UVA
Auburn L blowout
NMSU W finish strong

5-7

Floor 3-9
Ceiling 7-5
You Flames really are smoking! We have bigger, faster and stronger athletes. We are a way different team than we were when y’all almost beat us like 5 years ago. Liberty will take the FBS bumps just like the rest of us! Cool your jets down, because everyone beat up Baylor last year!

Y’all weren’t much better than slightly above and average FCS teams last year. Be glad y’all didn’t play JMU or they would have smoked y’all. I really doubt the talent gap is as big as you think. It’s ODU not Bama.

Liberty would be bowl eligible if there aren't enough bowl eligible teams to fill slots assuming LU was bowl eligible after ignoring their transitional status.

You would also have to go 7-5...

7-5 would secure a spot but isn’t the only way we would get selected. Per FBS rules:

1) 6-6 with one FCS win over an FCS that does not award enough aid to be a countable win.
2. 6-6 with two FCS wins.
3. 6 win teams that scheduled 13 games before the season started (ie. played at Hawaii, 6-7 who lost their 7th in a conference championship game are now bowl eligible and no longer require a waiver)
4. 6 win or better teams in the final year of transition to FBS (ie. met FBS schedule requirements and will be FBS the next year if they met all the criteria)
5. 5-7 teams selected in order of multi-year APR score.

So we would need it to be us at 6-6 vs a team that is 5-7 for the bowl spot. In that scenario the team should get in.
