Yea, I'm watching it on my computer here. It is a damn good game so far. Up and down the court.

More surprisingly, tied without our best player (Frazier) playing.

Ona Embo playing great. He has the offense looking good, Temple hasn’t had much of an answer for his energy.

Tulane plays hard and works inside and outside. I’ve enjoyed watching them play this year with the exception of when we lose to y’all.

Why is he not playing?

Funny story: teams in the MVC would occasionally turn down CBI/CIT invites. And we constantly railed on each other with NIT smack.

Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of the MVC this was just an observation intended to offer perspective.

Not getting invited to the NCAA tournament means you are grouped with the other 269 losers that didn't make it; nothing more, nothing less.

T

...03-cool

Well, the NIT might be bad if you are WS but for Tulsa, UCF, etc... the NIT is a nice consolation.

Considering where we are right now and that this team returns almost everybody and had a big group of new players getting significant minutes yes the nit is a nice fit. For UCF with all their injuries it would work well and help you develop your other players for when your stars come back next year. Historically? The NIT is pretty good season for UCF and a meh season for Tulsa. In the future I think it will be a meh season for UCF as well, like your coach and what he is building there.

Co|d is talking out his behind. Barring the last five years wsu had one NCAA tourney appearance in a twenty year span. Right now the nit is not ok for them they are a NCAA caliber program, but even crediting their current run they only have five ncaa's in seventeen years about to be six in eighteen since 2000.

Most of that same time period (2000 till 2018) the MVC was a zero or one at large conference, while getting multiple nit bids. They didn't give each other crap about making the nit because most of the conference didn't even make that. In fact that is one of the biggest differences between the AAC and the MVC we have multiple teams who have earned multiple (three or more) at large births in that time period. For these programs the NIT is not good enough, UConn, Cincy, Temple, Memphis will usually view a NIT season as a disappointment/awful, WSU, Tulsa, Houston, traditionally view the NIT as a meh/non par year, maybe SMU as well. That is where UCF is headed. Hopefully Tulane can get there too.

No Melvin Frazier

RE: 2/4 AAC Basketball Games - TU4ever - 02-04-2018 04:20 PM

Temple is so Jekyll/Hyde that I'm frustrated as hell with them and I'm not even a real fan

RE: 2/4 AAC Basketball Games - oliveandblue - 02-04-2018 04:27 PM

66-65 Tulane after a 7-0 run. They're trading punches without Frazier on the floor.

I took a game off after the USF loss, but it seems like "good" Tulane showed up again (?). They started badly from 3, but then just stopped forcing 3s and allowed inside play to develop.

RE: 2/4 AAC Basketball Games - oliveandblue - 02-04-2018 04:33 PM

I think this game doesn't say good things about Temple.

Tulane is frigid from 3, doesn't have their leading scorer, and was in an offensive funk heading into this game. Temple is on fire from 3... ...and Tulane is up by 1 somewhat deep into the 2nd half.

I think Temple wins this game somehow, but it's not very convincing at all.

Hurt on a (not called) illegal screen in first few minutes. Hard to tell how serious it is. Has a shoulder sling on, which could just be precautionary.

Don't think Rose will be getting elected mayor of new Orleans any time soon. He apparently doesn't like the student section and Tulane fans enjoy serenading him.

Such an intimate setting. You can hear a fart from across the floor.

Wow. Tempkes bigs are both done.

RE: 2/4 AAC Basketball Games - thespiritof1976 - 02-04-2018 04:48 PM

What is with the Eagles fans there ?

RE: 2/4 AAC Basketball Games - oliveandblue - 02-04-2018 04:51 PM

Tulane lost. They shot ice cold from 3 - and that's a criminal offense if you're a small team.

There are a LOT of northeastern Tulane students.

RE: 2/4 AAC Basketball Games - TU4ever - 02-04-2018 04:53 PM

Temple is going to crawl their way into the tournament, like some zombie stumbling to a marathon finish line.

RE: 2/4 AAC Basketball Games - Tiger1983 - 02-04-2018 04:54 PM

Temple keeps their NCAA Tourney hopes alive.

As Tulane get better and better that place is going to be a tough place to play.

That’s the book on them. Not big, not athletic and live and die behind the 3pt line. Not going to build a program in this conference on that style. It’s doesn't have much shelf life and doesn’t travel consistently enough.
