RE: 2/8 Bracketology - maybeimhere - 02-08-2018 09:24 AM

CBS has SMU as part of the Last Four In and UCF in First Four Out.

RE: 2/8 Bracketology - rath v2.0 - 02-08-2018 09:30 AM

CBS has UCF as 1st four out? Good Lord.

RE: 2/8 Bracketology - stever20 - 02-08-2018 09:52 AM

1 plus for Houston at least- Boise right now listed as an automatic team. If Nevada won conference they would be out and Houston would have 1 more spot comfort.

No offense to UCF, but not sure what Palm is doing there. They're done.

Bracketmatrix has Houston as a high 11, and on 107 of 108 of its brackets.
SMU is first four out, and Temple is picking up steam.

RE: 2/8 Bracketology - ShockerFever - 02-08-2018 10:45 AM

I’m not sure how UCF is closer than Temple in any bracketology.

Palm is generally horrible though.

Where are the NIT projections?

Ucf might not be in the nit at this rate.

Temple needs to keep winning, but they may need help - by defeats - also from teams above them.

big place to watch this weekend is Arizona. The Arizona schools play USC and UCLA. Arizona sweeps would really hurt USC and UCLA(2 of the 7 closest teams to Temple). Marquette with a suddently difficult game with St John's. Va Tech and Kansas St with brutal games with Virginia and Texas Tech. A lot of potential losses just above them which does nothing but help Temple.

Butler is exactly the kind of team that gives UC fits. Good shooters, good ballhandlers, high basketball IQ players. They've beaten Cincy in the two most recent match-ups by playing to those strengths.

How there is still a bracket with Houston out of the tourney, is a mystery to me.

Before tonight's SMU game, Houston is in 107 brackets out of 108 tracked by the BracketMatrix.

http://www.bracketmatrix.com

Historically over the last 12 teams, only 9 schools have been snubbed when they've made at least 2/3 of the final brackets tracked by BracketMatrix.

And oddly enough its the exact type of school UC gets on a collision course the 1st weekend nearly every year.

It's always the other guy's fault. Spoken like a true ex-major conference member.

To advance in the NCAA tournament you need good shooters, good ballhandlers, high BBIQ, and serviceable defense. I think lock-down defense is more important for the conference grind than the NCAA tournament. In the Dance things usually open up a little and scoring is encouraged by the refs/NCAA for television purposes.

So much time left for temple to get back in. If they’re at all close, the SOS will get them over the hump.

Palm is drinking too much coconut juice. We are not sniffing a bid this year.

This bracket should get a good reception around here...

Palm has a new bracket out today. He gave up the juice, and dropped UCF.
