He has been vocal in his gripes over the locker room, facilities, and staffing. Todd Stansbury has responded by, in his first year on the job, renovating the locker room, hiring 4 new recruiters for staff, upgrading at DC, upgrading at DLC, upgrading at STC, and getting rid of Russell for Adidas.

Todd Stansbury can only move so fast, and just what I listed is probably a cool $10,000,000.

I can't imagine Paul Johnson expressing his displeasure. He's always so calm...

I wonder if Tennessee AD Currie had interest in Paul Johnson..

With all the donor backlash from the attempted Shiano hire, can you imagine how bad it would have been if they tried to hire Paul Johnson?

If I had an agent, I'd want him to find out what my market value was. I wouldn't want him to lie about me being interested, but I think I would want him to see if I'm being grossly underpaid.

Luckily it never got that far. Knoxville would have burned to the waterline

That's the response I would have expected from Johnsons' camp. If Johnson had initiated contact with Tennessee, GT would have had his stuff packed and sitting in the parking lot by the time he got back.

I know Johnson wanted improvement to facilities. This might have been an attempt to put pressure on GT to push those improvements. Maybe he got some new paint for his office out of it??

I tend to think Johnson's telling the truth here about his interest and it being a contract ploy. He's a lot of things, but I don't think he's delusional about how incredibly bad a fit he would have been at Tennessee.

Whether his agent made the contact without his knowledge, not so sure I buy that, but I would believe him regarding his interest.

Darn it Paul, you just gave up hope for a bunch of knees across the ACC!

Brent Venables is grateful to Paul Johnson for staying put.

He should worry about what will happen if he ever locates a defense and a recruiting budget.

Might as well worry about when Johnson recruits Sasquatch and the Loch Ness Monster.

The next time GT wins a national championship is when these guys are playing...

Those engineers at GT might need to work overtime so that Skynet can become self-aware quicker haha

Quote: Georgia Tech has finalized a contract extension for football head coach Paul Johnson, director of athletics Todd Stansbury announced on Friday. Combined with the three years already remaining on Johnson's current contract, Johnson is now signed to remain with the Yellow Jackets through the 2022 season.

Take heart Jackets.....figure at some point Venebles gets a HC offer he can't refuse and takes his GT gameplan with him, and there's always the chance that our starting QB goes down and the only backup we have has a torn shoulder muscle as well.
