My instinct is the credit goes to Beard, mostly. I would have to look at the roster makeup and starters to really know. I read somewhere there has been a lot of turnover. Not sure I'm that interested to check, lol.

Evans who went out right before they started their little slump is a Tubby guy.
Evans, Gray, and Zach Smith are all Tubby guys.
Beard has repeatedly credited Tubby and the players he brought in for this year.
I know that doesn't go with the Tubby sucks promotion Memphis has been running, but you never had any proof of that anyway.
Hey by the way, Petino at Minnesota isn't doing too well either. In the same time period he's been there as tubby was, he has one NCAA appearence (with Tubby's players) and lost. Otherwise they haven't been competitive.
Maybe Tubby can coach and Memphis is more likely to follow the schools who didn't think so (Kentucky and Minnesota) than the ones who did (Tulsa, Georgia, Texas Tech)?

Coogin' Houston, were they that close to a Final Four? But for a Miracle 3 by a Freshman, this might have been them in the 8. Maybe they were the best team in the AAC by the end of the year?
