Anthony Evans no longer coach at FIU - Fish - 04-02-2018 06:00 PM

FIU will not re-sign men's basketball coach Anthony Evans. FIU release here:

http://fiusports.com/news/2018/4/2/fiu-athletics-set-to-search-for-new-head-mens-basketball-coach.aspx

There are rumors of Rick Pitino to FIU. Tim Reynolds, an AP writer from S FL had this to say about Pitino to FIU:

https://twitter.com/ByTimReynolds/status/980938879204249600

"I would not be one bit surprised to see Rick Pitino at FIU. Not one bit."

Let the games begin.

Seems kind of late? I wonder why they waited until April

Still a lot of good coaches on the board available.

It seems to me they wouldn't have fired Evans unless they had a coach ready to replace him. Or perhaps Evans did something really stupid and got caught doing it. But if that was the case, then why in the world would they hire Rick Pitino (especially considering his son only spent 1 year at FIU before moving on).

If Pitino was hired by FIU, the NCAA will put them on probation within 6 months is my prediction. They already want to do something to Pitino but they didn't want to harm a Big 5 school. Pitino at FIU would be a perfect set-up for the crooks at the NCAA.

They didn't fire the coach. They just didn't resign him to a new contract.

Rick Pitino thinks he is above the law and acts almost Mofia. Not to say that CUSA would not get the attention, just not sure it would be good attention

The same thing was said about Lane Kiffin I believe. Not the mafia part.

I need to go back and find where the FIU fans said Lane was dirty and we would be on probation within 6 months.

As they hire a guy under FBI investigation.

At least at FIU there is not a single person who cares enough to be a bag man.

Would be great to see Pitino at FIU. Pitino has had a rough stretch of bad luck, would be great to see him get back on his feet in c-usa.

RE: Anthony Evans no longer coach at FIU - Jack Bauer - 04-03-2018 06:18 PM

He told me he would never be back in diddle. So I really hope he goes there so I can heckle him some more.

The ex-UTA Coach, Scott Cross would be my first choice.........................................................after Pitino ofcourse. By the way, there is no way FIU ups their basketball budget enough to entice Pitino, unless they get a huge donation for that specifically.

I think that it is far more likely that you see Pitino coaching in the NBA.

I think it is even more likely that you will see Pitino pimping for some large Vegas establishment. The guy is done (at least I hope).

clt asks about the best Italian restaurants in boca. Any quality there? Do the bathroom doors lock?

Please please please hire Slick Rick FIU! I’d love to see him have to stroll back into Diddle Arena again. He’s a scumbag x 10.
