IBM has been a good corporate partner with RTP and the State of NC.

IBM business units with operations in RTP, include IBM Software, Global Technology Services, Systems Technology, Retail Solutions, Finance, Integrated Supply Chain, Marketing, and Human Resources."
IBM PC successor Lenovo is also headquartered in RTP (Research Triangle Park).
WATSON lives in RTP and has been used by the UNC Hospitals to help diagnose and map treatment for cancer patients.
