Rain in Miami - Houston Owl - 05-17-2018 04:23 PM

Today's game has been postponed to a purported double header tomorrow starting at 3:00. The weather seems to look worse tomorrow.

If we don't play this weekend, we seem to be in pretty good shape.

RE: Rain in Miami - ExcitedOwl18 - 05-17-2018 05:17 PM

If you’re looking for some games to follow tonight:

Root for FAU over WKU and MT over UAB.

Ugh. Talk about backing your way into a tournament.

Move it all here! Not even a cloud in the sky earlier today. Glad my seats are in the shade, mostly, though.

RE: Rain in Miami - NYNightOwl - 05-17-2018 06:18 PM

WKU and FAU still planning to play - pushed back to 7:45 start

Field is ready and teams are getting prepared to man their positions, but now we have a light tower issue here. Working to fix that ASAP and get this game going!

RE: Rain in Miami - Viejobuho - 05-17-2018 06:58 PM

FIU (?) pulled the game prematurely—-has not rained here in Miami for at least two hours, with all roads dry and little sign of accumulated moisture. Oh well...just frustrated as I been checking weather all day long and was on my way to the game. Tomorrow flight back to PR...

Go Owls!

Great game on FS1 — TCU at UT if you have cable.

MT up on UAB.

Roger Clemons in the booth being interviewed and giving great accolades to Coach Graham for the help he got from him at San Jac. Interesting stories.

Check and check, so far:

FAU scored 9 runs in B2 after two were out, and just hit a leadoff dinger in B3 ... leads 10-1.

MTenn has hit three HRs and leads UAB, 6-2, after 6.

In fairness, we've had (iirc) 2 work against us

Ya...if anyone deserves a backdoor entry into the CUSA tourney, it is this team.

MTenn wins, 7-4.

FAU leads 15-1, after 6. The Eastern Owls have his 6 HRs, including three to lead off innings and a grand slam.

TCU takes the L in Austin.

Frogs RPI at 65... Going to be on the bubble even if they win the final two games this weekend.

With a series win (or especially a sweep), Texas could host.

That's not on the bubble. TCU is going to have to win the Big 12 tournament to get into the post-season.

Two road wins at UT would likely bring their RPI into the low fifties and a 3-2 performance in the Big 12 tournament could get them in.

Not likely, but there’s a plausible path into the NCAAs without winning the tourney.

we're out....we're not done...

RE: Rain in Miami - flash3200 - 05-18-2018 10:34 AM

Seems like they should have moved the games up today. The HRRR has quite a bit of rain in the Miami area later this afternoon and continuing into the evening. Tomorrow still looks like a toss up.

RE: Rain in Miami - RiceBull - 05-18-2018 11:47 AM

The Florida schools are doing their best to avoid playing Rice. FIU is using the weather as an excuse to preserve their standing.
