A music "artist" setting up his fan for failure - miko33 - 05-22-2018 09:34 AM

I'd sue the motherflocker. What an ass_hole POS dickhead. Honestly, it's dickheads like this that royally screws up race relations. If you don't want to see 'that word' used by anyone, don't fvcking use the word in your lyrics!

A "rappa" acting like a thug and an a-hole.

Color me shocked.

Silver lining is that is sounds like most people are seeing thru the BS for what it is.

Hopefully it will backfire on him in a big way.

I'm mildly surprised that so many black people are cool with the word being used among themselves but get their nose out of joint when an outsider uses it. If it's such an offensive word, it should be offensive no matter who uses it.

She knew what she was doing. She should have been cognizant of the history behind the word and just not have said it.

Nope. He wrote the song that way. If he didn't want a white person to sing it that way, then don't call a white person on stage to sing in the first place.

Perhaps he wanted both his white and black fans to get an opportunity to get on stage with him? I honestly don't think he it to set her up to say the word. He's had white people on stage with him before and they had the common sense to just not say it.

Exactly...so he needed another white person up there to make an example out of them. Clearly a setup.

Nope. The "artist" wants it both ways. He wants white people to buy his music but won't let them fully participate in the experience. It's really quite simple. Kendrick peppers his songs with this word. Whites should take that as a clue that their money is really not wanted. Whites should boycott all of this man's music until he either 1) censors his own music or 2) publicly goes on record supporting the idea that all whites who are fans of this type of rap music who PURCHASES this stuff should be able to use the word when singing these songs with zero restrictions.

I'm tired of the hypocrisy. I'm tired of these types of set ups and double standards. I'm tired of the feigned outrage. The guy needs to acknowledge his role in this mess IMHO.

When the only card you’ve got is the race card, it’s natural to try to turn everything into a race issue.

Never heard of this guy but if he doesn't want folks to sing his song he shouldn't write the lyrics and produce the music, etc. This entire event makes him look like an ignorant a$$ that was looking to make a mountain out of a molehill for publicity.

Is there a certain % of blackness you have to be before its OK to say nigga ( I dont listen to his music so I assume thats what he's saying)? Do you have to be 100% black, 90%, 50%, 25%, 15% can you say it if your great great great grandmother was black but you are really white?

Who gets to set the standard? Years from now people will be looking back to this period as some dumb ******* people. Common sense says if it's part of a song and you are singing that song...its OK to sing it. If you are making it personal by directly calling someone that. Then it's not OK but that should go with all races of people.

But again who do we look for to set the standard of blackness?

What if you are white, but a strong ally of African-Americans? Do you get a waiver to say the N word in songs because you have a Black Lives Matter lawn sign?

Typical lib logic in this thread. If you don't want the word used, don't put it in the song. Not exactly a real complicated issue.

Hmmmmm. If no white person can use this word then why are the race hustlers telling me we still live in Emmett Till's America?
