Road to Omaha 2018 - mikeinoki - 05-26-2018 12:48 PM

I am expecting 5 AAC teams in. Right now we are neck and neck with the ACC for the 3-4 position in RPI. The ACC is looking for 4-5 teams to host. Although the ACC has 14 baseball teams to our 9, to not get at least 2 AAC teams hosting with our high RPI would be a major slight to the conference.

We'll find out tomorrow night.

You sir are correct. So noted/edited.

Feeling like this will be the break-out year for the AAC in Regional play. At least one team will punch their ticket to Omaha.

D1Baseball 5/27 Projections:

ECU: Secure Host
UCONN: Bubble Host
USF: In
Houston: In
UCF: 2nd Team Out

I'll be rooting for the AAC like crazy.

Sad to see so much power in this conference and we're couch-surfing again in June. Our AD better perform his duties Monday afternoon or some serious sh*t is gonna go down.

P.S. UCF really screwed the pooch with their 0-2 conference tournament. Hopefully it doesn't cost them.

They should just crown ECU and save us the time of winning another tournament

Pundits think Coastal Carolina will grab the last host spot over UCONN. Frustrating considering UCONN beat them at their place earlier this year.

Wow last week UCF wasn't even apart of the last 5 in. The conference had 5 teams comfortably in. There wasn't that many unexpected results during the last weekend of the year.

Sucks if you look at all the quality teams we have beat this season. Like UF 2x. We laid an egg in that conference tourney. We win 1 game and we are comfortable.

Bright side for UCF:

Looks like only 1 bid thief this year (Morehead State). Possibly 2 if Seton Hall beats St Johns. Last year there were something like 7 bid thieves, which ultimately knocked UCONN out of the field.

Don't forget UNCW winning the CAA. Northeastern should be in with an RPI in the 30's. UNCW had to win to get in with an RPI of 64.

Disagree that they're a lock. Record vs Top 50/100 teams is severely lacking. And it's not like they didn't have the opportunities for quality wins. They just lost the vast majority of them.

D1Baseball and BaseballAmerica have them out (and behind UCF).

They should be punished for chickening out. Go Huskies.
