Wow on Little Rock. Sinclair station still a no go.
I'm 17 miles from the transmitter for the Stadium affiliate in Little Rock with an antenna 28ft off the ground pointed at the transmitter (all but two local stations are on the same hill) with an amplifier and cannot get that station

Well it is a low-power station, so that could be the reason. Maybe they'll up the power to transmit farther. Maybe call them up and ask them about it.

If I'm reading that list correctly, all of those channels are "alternate" over the air channels that won't be seen by anyone who gets their TV through cable or satellite. You have to have an over the air antenna that gives you not just the "main" OTA channel that almost everyone watches, but all alternate feeds as well. You also have to be located close enough to the transmitter and the signal has to be transmitted with sufficient power for you to receive all of those signals, as arkstfan noted.

Those are significant hurdles to viewing that very few casual fans will bother to jump over.

Just a quick note.....
Paducah is in Kentucky and Cape Girardeau is in Missouri.

They are about 70 miles apart and form a small market in far Western Kentucky and Extreme Southern Missouri.

Fun Fact: Rush Limbaugh got his start in Cape Girardeau.

Not exactly. On Suddenlink in WV it's on channel 125 if you have a cable box.

Without a box it comes in on an alternate channel.

Yes, those are OTA only channels. However, there are a few -1 channels that will be part of the basic cable packages (must carry rules).

Some in the small town are LD (low digital) which may have issues getting it but for the most part if you are in the town itself, you have a good chance of receiving it.
20% of the US Households now only have OTA TV. That is increasing as cord-cutting continues with people not having Paid TV (via Cable or OTT platforms).
But this is serving a section of the viewership. Pluto TV, Apps, Roku/Apple/Fire TV channels add to the viewership also.

They must be getting a bit of viewership since their live show Sauce & Schramm gets quite a few callers.

That's what you want, to get a wider audience. I really like my Roku, and I recommend it to anyone thinking of cord cutting, but there are only 19 million of them worldwide and, as with the TV audience in general, well over 80% don't watch college football on TV.

RE: Stadium's 24/7 OTA Station List (Updated 7/13/18) - MUsince96 - 08-03-2018 03:21 PM

The dream scenario is if they could become the only sports channel on basic cable and be on the dial with NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, PBS, CW, CSPAN, My TV, ION etc.

Of course that would probably mean we lose all our coverage to P5 games though lol.

If they could get an FCC license upgrade they would already have it.

Stadium should develop a satellite/cable network (like ESPN, Fox Sports, beIN, & CBS Sports) to complement their OTA and streaming capabilities.

Probably past that time. They wouldn't likely be able to leverage it into a carriage fee and more than likely would face satellite and cable demanding to be paid to carry it.

When CBSSN got CUSA for the first contract, they had to buy space from Direct to create an "overflow" channel just to meet the contract requirements of available households.

I saw part of the interview but didn’t know of the impact it had with Stadium.

So Brett McMurphy is heading to Stadium? Interesting how Stadium is getting former sports reporters from other sports networks.

I saw Jeff Goodman advertised on a podcast. The preview read "Jeff Goodman of Stadium"

They've been showing ultimate frisbee all summer. I was disappointed in the amount of live college sports were shown on the channel last year. They would have talking heads jabbering about the NFL on Saturday afternoons. Surely they could get some game on. Basketball too. There seemed to be more live coverage when it was ASN. Stadium seems to be pushing a lot of live broadcasts onto Facebook Live. It's good quality but man the announcing is annoying. Showing pictures of peoples dogs that they post on twitter with their school colors on.
