Baylor Receive Notice of Infraction Letter From NCAA - Attackcoog - 10-02-2018 10:26 AM

According to a report in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, after completing its investigation of Baylor University and its handling of sexual assault allegations that were made between 2011 and 2015, the NCAA is alleging the school and its athletic department had a "lack of institutional control."

In addition to the school, the NCAA found that former Baylor football coach Art Briles failed to "promote an atmosphere of compliance," by committing violations that fall under "head coach responsibility."

Frankly--I thought Baylor had dodged that bullet as I figured the NCAA would let the justice system handle this one after the Penn State fiasco.

@KBTXRusty
Report: Baylor University officials are investigating allegations the former Chairman of the Baylor Board of Regents made racial slurs against Baylor’s black football players and inappropriate sexual remarks about female students at the university.

Hopefully a Notice of Expulsion Letter is soon to follow.

Well unlike Penn St., this actually involved keeping football players on the field. Still the NCAA ignored UNC which was the type of stuff they are supposed to be policing-fake student athletes, not just criminal student athletes.

Which is why in the end, I'm sure all they'll get is a finger wagging and a stern warning.

The NCAA will get to play Tarzan and pound it's chest while Baylor will say Thank you Sir, we're sorry and go about it's business.

My condolences to Houston Baptist's athletic department.

Just kick Baylor from the Big 12, and see how heavy-handed the NCAA will be on Baylor.

I think this gets ugly. They’ve seen what happens when you comply; you get bludgeoned. Don’t, like UNC, and what can they do?

I think this school opts for the latter.

The conference should expel them. Of course Baylor would sue.

Nobody’s entitled to major status. This school shouldn’t be allowed to field athletics.

Well....apparently it works---so I wouldnt be surprised if it goes that direction if the penalty is at all significant.

If you’re any school in the BXII, wouldn’t you rather have the exposure in Houston anyway? You have a window to boot Baylor and swap-in the Houston market at no cost.

The Big 12 will not kick Baylor out and they will not add another Texas team.

Future realignment will give Baylor their permanent death sentence as they sit in a conference with SFA, Sam Houston and Lamar.

The MWC and AAC won't touch that cesspool and that is OK with me.

Edit: The Big 12 normally plays an opening type game at NRG and a bowl game at NRG.

There's a fundamental difference. Penn State was a state institution where some level of culpability might have extended beyond Spanier's office. Ditto at UNC where they are one of the very few drivers of revenue for the NCAA. Baylor on the other hand, like SMU, is a private school, particularly a religious school, and doesn't stand a dog's chance in hell of getting out of this unscathed because there is no political redress against an otherwise impotent NCAA. They'll get heavy scholarship sanctions and fines, with possible bowl suspension.

The Big 12 will add Cincinnati, Memphis Tulane, USF, UCF and BYU or Colorado State.
