Top Freshmen - MTXE - 11-13-2018 12:41 PM

Those of you who have watched more AAC ball than me, who is on the radar for Freshman of the year?

He tried, yet it seems that Fev beat him to it, as about -36 of that is thanks to him.

pesiks freshmen of the year watch-

- jayden garder...ecu big man, put up 30 last game. ecu will almost certainly rely on him big this year...could average 17pt+ 8rb+

- Kevin Zhang (#1 Chinese prospect) tulane- fearless.. 6'9 but top-level guard skills, elite shooter, elite driver ..if he adds 15-20lbs to his frame will be a NBA draft pick...had 24pts vs a top 15 FSU

- tyler harris Memphis- top-level scorer, shooting is a little streaky, but he will put up some 30+ point games on good shooting nights

- nate hinton UH- wont put up the stats as the above 3, but could get it on being a heavily used talented freshman on a potentially really good team

I think it will come to 1 of those 4

they wont get it but i feel ill be attacked for not mentioning them

- Any of the wichita freshmen- i dont think any 1 freshmen will stand out enough to win it...but wouldnt be surprised to see multiple on the all-freshmen team

- logan johnson UC- defense dont win awards

- Feron Hunt SMU- could jump in late, and push for starting minutes..but wont win it at his current role

- the other memphis/tulane/ecu freshmen- only one from your team can win it

MTXE: The next Greenwave16?

RE: Top Freshmen - JHG722 - 11-13-2018 01:49 PM

He's probably going to be out all year, but Arashma Parks is the brother of Villanova/Atlanta Hawks' Omari Spellman. At 6'9 235 as a freshman, we haven't had that size in a while. Hoping he's the inside presence we've been lacking.

The 3 from WSU that will be most likely considered (based on a whole 2 games of playing time) are Jamarius Burton, Erik Stevenson, or Dexter Dennis.

Based off what I've seen out of Jayden Gardner I'd have to say he's the favorite. The big thing for him is that in addition to being talented he's playing on a team where he's going to get major minutes right away. I don't know how many other freshman this year are going to be asked to be one of their teams top 3 scorers. Gardner is a position to put up some big numbers this year.
