Marshall had a great experience in the New Mexico Bowl last year plus a MTN West opponent. I think it’s a great spot for any CUSA team.

I thought Side Show said it was a lock UNT was going to the HOD? At least y'all got a bowl. We are probably sitting at home this year.

are you saying UNT will only travel....if its less than 50 miles? This bowl is as close as any east team will travel to, other than maybe FIU

This is a great bowl opponent for us. A Top 25 team and all the Marshall reports from New Mexico bowl were positive.
I feel bad for Utah State having to play North Texas. I'm sure they were hoping to get a P5 since they were top 25 and all.

Not upset about the opponent Utah State is a ranked team. In truth, UAB should have been afforded the opportunity to face Utah State, so I'm good with facing them.
My issue is seeing Boise land at the First Responders Bowl. I know they have a strong following, but they will not show up to that bowl like North Texas would. I'm guessing a local Big12 team is headed to that bowl (TCU/Baylor), and they had no interest in facing a Mean Green team that could beat them.
Of course it could be worse... Poor BYU got stuck in the Potato Bowl. I guess this is ESPN's way of pressuring them into joining a conference.
