Bar B Que Bowl 2020 in Billboard on 95 - msm96wolf - 01-19-2019 02:09 PM

Driving up to VA Beach I saw a Billboard for the Bar B Que bowl 2020. Not saying the game is official, but seems a waste of money if it is not happening. Good for Greenville and ECU if it is on. 04-cheers

Well especially if it matches a vinegar pulled pork BBQ team from the Carolinas with a smoked brisket BBQ team from Texas.

They say bowls are just exhibitions but this one could be played for something more important.

BBQ bragging rights.

I’m in.

Chicago is long overdue. We also need a game in Indianpolis and Cincinnati as well. Indianapolis would be a great for the last Big Ten spot versus MAC or even a high end game if needed. Cincinnati would be good for MAC versus AAC/CUSA.

It's not possible to concoct BBQ from a cow.

I haven't heard anything about the Liberty Bowl being renamed.

I definitely want a Bar-B-Que Bowl trophy in App's trophy room.

Its the biggest TV market without a bowl game.

Good venue and a nice staging point for a vacation in the Outer Banks.

I don't know about the dream about having a regional opponent no more than 5 hours away play in it. That leaves you with Charlotte, ODU, App St and Coastal if you are sticking with G5 programs. Maybe Georgia Southern is within 5 hours.

This game would definitely have my vote over another game played in Phoenix with all the new programs in the VA/NC/SC region.

Realistically, if the game is scheduled on a weekend there are several teams that would be close enough to bring good crowds.

ECU
ODU
AppSt
UNCC
Liberty
CCU
GaSo (6 hours)
Temple (6.5 hours)
Marshall (7 hours)
GaSt (7 hours)
Ohio (8 hours)

Its also potentially the coldest market too. To bad Wrigley only wanted top tier P5 schools for their potential bowl before they threw in the towel for their bowl after the B-10 only agreed to send bottom tier teams. 04-jawdrop 04-jawdrop 04-jawdrop 03-drunk 03-drunk 03-drunk 03-cloud9 03-cloud9 03-cloud9 04-cheers

I thought the bowl in Chicago between the AAC/B1G was off but maybe they are doing a rotation with the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit that would include the MAC with some slots.

Interesting from the view through my MAC colored glasses.

I'm not a doctor or anything, but aren't most of the bowl games played in winter?

Chicago getting a Super Bowl anytime soon?
