All-time AAC basketball? - tharmon15 - 01-13-2020 06:00 PM

This could be an enjoyable discussion.

Who would make your All-time AAC starting five? Using a G, G, G/F, F, C lineup. These are some names that come to mind:

G- Shabazz Napier
G- Nic Moore
G- Sean Kilpatrick
F- Gary Clark
C- Shaq Goodwin? Austin Nichols? Dedric Lawson? Tacko Fall?

There are not a ton of clear cut options with the bigs. Gary Clark would be an undersized Forward for sure. A lot of incredible guard play!

What better lineup would you have out there?

all time on accomplishment? ...or best team to win a game?

Factoring in both, I’d guess. I know you’ll have Rob Gray in there, and you should 04-cheers

it depends ...thats why im asking...

for example on ac compliment..nic moore and shabazz has to be on the 1st team...on a whats a better team...5'9 nic more, paired with 6'1 napier would probably no be the best team

and if i was picking a team to win games, landry shamet and damyean dotson have to be in the conversation but wouldn't be in the conversation if talking accomplishment

Yeah, I get that. It would just be like a lineup of Tyler Harris and Alex Lomax, except a smidge better.

Leaving Napier and Moore off would be hard to do, but I get that argument. If you’re picking one of those two, it has to be Napier.

Clark and Nic Moore are the two most accomplished players in league history. Semi probably had the best individual year along with Napier and Kilpatrick. Those would probably be my 5...

Jayden Gardner

I'd put Rob Gray on there.

There were two national title teams in the AAC (Louisville and UConn).

Shouldn't that list include some guys like Ryan Boatright, Russ Smith, Montrezl Harrell and Amidah Brimah? What about guys like Semi Ojeleye and Shaq Goodwin?

Highest rated draft pick out of the AAC... Landry Shamet

I don't know, but the only guard in the country that was clearly better that year was Trae Young imo.

Based on his collegiate career, who would you replace him with?

Russ Smith?

Montrezzl Harrell?

That's a really weak list of centers, IMO.

Yeah, I don’t disagree. But which centers would you consider? Was Harrell involved in the one year of Louisville being in the AAC? I know Russ was.

Harrell was.

I don't have a good answer for center. I might take Achiuwa or Echinique over any of those guys. I wouldn't put Shaq Morris on a list, but he'd be ahead of Shaq Goodwin for me.

Shake Milton would be a pretty good 2/3.

I like both Napier and Moore, but wouldn't want both on the same 5. Shamet as a 2 with either of those PGs is deadly.

Dedrick Lawson.
