Obviously, you haven't read a thing about the OSU defense this season. They will be one of the best. Washington will return home crying!

If it is necessary to talk smack.....

WSU is the Oregon State of this year... all they need is an SI endorsement to be assured of a 4 or 5 loss season....

No chance they walk into the shoe and hang 45 on the Bucks.... as to the secondary, the corners may be a bit "green" but the Safety position is loaded... Doss is considered one of the best in the nation, and Nickey is just as tough....

that said, you might want to just go hang a few more posters of wonderboy Gesser on grain silos... it seems a more logical pursuit than you trying to analyze football as I don't think anyone with any sense could ever assume a PAC-10 team could embarrass OSU like that....

My pick:
OSU 28
WSU 24

1980 UCLA 17 OSU 0
1986 Washington 40 OSU 7
1989 USC 42 OSU 3

Probably closer than the score indicated.

PAC-10.... I appreciate your ability to research online... but nonetheless... you didn't list a game that occurred within the last 10 years...

given, in certain years PAC-10 teams have been powers and have worked over teams from the BigTen.... my contention, is that at present... there is no team in the PAC that could roll OSU that bad....

I think the game will be competitive, that's why i called it 28-24.... hell, the Cougs' may even pull the upset.... but if anyone thinks they could actually pull a 45-17 beating like CougarReggie suggests they're not thinking straight

for reference... some more recent games that might be slightly more indicative than what you highlight:

2001 - Loss v UCLA 13 - 6
2000 - Win v Arizona - 27 - 17
1999 - Win v UCLA - 42 - 20
1997 - Win v Arizona - 28 - 20
1995 - Win v Wash 30 - 20

Cheers,
JM

Reggie, thanks for at least tempering your pick.... 33-21 has at least the proverbial snowballs-chance-in-hell to it unlike the earlier 45-17....

and surely you're kidding that Doss is the only person on D... teams playing in a major conference surrendering 20ppg are hardly one person units... (You should know that you guys only give up 22.5) anyway, I'm sure if you're not familiar at this point, come evening on Sept. 14 and you'll be very well acquainted with Nickey, Wilhelm, Grant, and Fox.... if you're lucky, maybe a few of our stud recruits will be available for an introduction as well.... (D'Andrea, Hawk, Pitcock, Kudla...)

Anyway, if you feel that confident in the Cougs' I'm happy to take a 12point line to the bank....

I am very confident in WSU and I am not to caught up on what OSU has right now but I will be keeping an eye out on your guys. I know it will be a great game but it will come down to leadership and WSU has more. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

your post said a pac-10 team couldn't blow them out and I was just proving otherwise. OSU has been pretty successful vs. the Pac-10 over the past few years, but not unbeatable. WSU will give the buckeyes a good game. There is a good chance I will be going to see it.

Point taken.... I'll give you we've been blown out in the past... nonetheless... this one should be competitive.... at least on paper it looks to be.... if not, once it goes down we can both come back here and bash whoever loses.....

I can't wait for this game. I have been looking forward to it for a long time. OSU fans think they are going to dominate WSU but we will see.
