Definitely the most gut wrenching episode ever. The only other thing on tv to get me like that was the Red Wedding, and that just pissed me off.

The first was bad but I didn't see the 2nd part coming at all. That blew my mind (no pun intended.

After the first, I figured "Ok, they just switched them out from what it should be."

Then nope. Thats why the second one caught me off guard. I was predicting the second one to be the One... so when it didnt happen, I felt somewhat safe. And then they did it.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
Pretty much how I predicted with 2 deaths. But they executed it better than I thought they would. I thought they'd take glenn and abraham since abraham didn't die how he originally did in the comics, plus abraham was going on about having a kid the episode before. I figured they'd play that up right before he died. Good episode and well executed.

The only lame thing is now how are they ever going to get rid of Daryl. Probably keep him around for the ratings since Glenn is gone

It is interesting that they had to bleep out language in the post show and god forbid they show a boob on network TV, but its perfectly acceptable to show someone getting their brains bashed into a pile of goo with what's left of their eyeballs staring up from the sludge. Network standards are ridiculous.

Also, while it did make me care a bit for the first time in a long time, this show has no end game and it cannot escape that fate. It will continue to lose viewers for that reason alone.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
I'm fairly certain that the ratings for TWD has not dropped so much as to be of concern for AMC. It will be interesting to see what the numbers were for last night's premiere.

I loved the episode but man, that was tough to watch. I thought that Abraham and Glenn were going to be the ones to get Lucille'd but that did not make it any easier. Things got really difficult for me when Negan was asking Rick to cut off Carl's arm; that was brutal, but necessary in order to make Negan as feared as he needs to be for the story arc to be told.

Negan is going to be around for a while.

I've been thinking about the end a lot too. The 'Rick waking up from a coma' ending would piss everyone off but it would be easiest and make a lot of sense. That's the only end where everyone doesn't die.

That is my growing frustration with TWD.

The standard formula for the show is Rick's group runs across some bad guys, Rick's group fights back, someone from Rick's group dies . . . . . rinse and repeat the above.

lol...you mean conflict? Pretty much every story ever told is built on that type of arch. That said, I do agree that any series can begin to get stale----I think AMC might want to consider placing an end date on the series like Game Of Thrones or Lost. Ive found Im a huge fan of this new world of serialized entertainment that's based on a book or novel (or even a free standing original script). True Dectective, Strange Things, and Game of Thrones are all good examples.

Because its serialized, it can be far more rich and detailed than a movie---but because it has a set end date (unlike a normal series), there is no need for wasted story lines that lead to nowhere. When you know where you are going and you know how many hours you have to tell the story---the finished product can be so much better. A finite serialized story is a fantastic vehicle for TV and the Netflixs/Amazons/HBO's of the world have shown it can be done successfully and economically. I really hope that form of story telling becomes more of the norm for TV.

I've wondered how the show will end. I don't think that it will be the "Rick wakes up from a coma" scenario. I don't think that there will be any real resolution to things, but I do expect to see Rick die.

I could see a scenario where Rick dies and Carl finds himself ina leadership position, alongside a few others that are currently in the cast.

I think that the show will end once the "Whisperers" have been dealt with.

Like many others, I originally thougt the end would be Rick waking up from a coma. Of course, now with "Fear the Walking Dead", that doesn't seem as likely...unless the drug addict kid wakes from a drug enduced coma.

FTWD is just a bad, bad series with terrible characters and character development.

It was brutal, but I didn't think it was as bad as Sanctuary in the episode where people were skulled and then cut and drained for food at that trough/slaughterhouse.
