RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
This show has a real pacing problem. They drag everything out s o o o o o o long. I think the producers/directors are such uber-geeks about their show that they think we all hang on every second of it. I'm geek-enough to like the show and the concept, but I don't want a minute-by-minute unfolding. Let's move this along.

The problem for the show as I understand it is they are rapidly catching up with the comic. I don't think they'll let the television show pass the comic but we'll see. I'm surprised they didn't do a full here's Negan episode to copy the special comic issue.

I'm sure they are going to but it has to be at the right time. To give Negan some humanity to make people not be as mad about how events unfold. Then again they hinted at a lot of the backstory when he was talking to Father Gabriel.

In the comic the All out war arc was issues 115 to 126. The comic is at issue 173 now so there almost 50 episodes of separation if the All out war arc is carried to the end of this season. The story after All out war makes sense to start at a new season. As a comparison the Here's Negan issue where Glenn meets Lucille was issue 100 so last season of the show was about 15 issues of the comic.

Wow. Just saw the last episode. I dont read the comic, but I’ve been led to believe the final plot twist of the episode can’t possibly be part of the actual comic.

They’ll find a way to unfortunately save him. I’m so sick of this show. Wish it would end.

I've liked this season better than the last one. At least there was some action and all the characters were together. It wasn't just a bunch of one-offs about individual characters. The Carl thing surprised me quite a bit. From watching Talking Dead afterwards, they sure make it sound like he's done for.

Corral is gone . . . . and apparently Chandler Riggs, the actor that portrays him is not too happy about the decision to "bump him off." Kid had just bought a house in Georgia, close to the filming locations. . . . He was also looking forward to the series playing out for Corral the way it had in the comics. . .

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
Barring a total rewrite it sure sounds like Carl is gone, his real life daddy is made about his firing after saying Show-Runner Gimple said he's good for three more years. This will be interesting as Carl had taking more of a leadership role in the comic. Have to wonder if the new guy will get that story arc. This may also allow show-runners a quick series exit if ratings continue to decline, by-passing the whole Whispers story arc.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
I was really surprised by the move. I thought maybe it was a contract dispute. They really hadn't done a lot with Carl this season. Game Of Thrones departs form the source material as well. Now that the HBO series has no more Game of Thrones books to follow, the producers have indicated they will go on for 2 more seasons and just tell thier own story. Maybe thats what the Walking Dead intends to do. The producers realize that while the Walking Dead comics might can go on forever, the TV series probably can only realistically sustain an audience for a few more seasons.

During the 100th episode celebration, they said they had the material for 100 more. The question is will they have the viewers for 100 more. I fast-forwarded through most of this season and just caught the highlights of each episode. Somewhere along the way I've lost any emotional attachment to the characters. Didn't phase me when Carl showed his bite. Not like Glenn. Or the ones before him. You can only keep the heroes downtrodden for so long before the people abandon hope and therefore interest. Need more resolution, then more challenge. The Saviors thing has drug on for 2 years. It's too much.

A lot of my family who watch feel like you. They didnt like the gruesome opening episode last season and were mad Glen died. Then they hated the long season of nothing but watching the main characters take a beating. I agree--that didnt need to be a whole season. A couple of them stopped watching. So..yeah...they need to pick up the pace. It was better this season..but could still improve.

I thought this half season was the best in a long time. Carl getting bit was a HUGE surprise to us.

I am happy to see Carl go. We needed a major character to die.

That was my thought. Lots of people complaining about it, yet continue to watch.

It's a fictional TV show and nothing is ever going to appease the entire fanbase. Wished this thread had dialogue of what happens instead of disappointment from the path of the show.

I always get a laugh when someone says a show about zombies jumps the shark. Seems like the show itself jumps the shark to begin with......LOL
