W(75%) - Air Force
W(95%) - Bethune Cookman
W/L(50%) - @UFC - undefeated last year, but lost almost thier entire coaching staff to Nesbraska. It’s a toss up because of thier stud QB.
W(70%) - @MTSU - The return of Stockstill and home field may help the middlers, but I’m taking the defending champs 7/10 times.
W(90%) ODU - They talked about how bad they were going to beat us, and then made excuses when they lost. Has their high horse somehow become a Donkey?
W(80%) @MRSH - Marshall fans seem down on their coaching staff, home field advantage might help but they still lose to the Owls.
W(75%) LTech - How many points does 100 years of football tradition give you? None.
W(100%) @FIU Kittens - I expect thier defense to be towards the top of the CUSA, but we own the Shula Bowl. No chance for FIU, the trophy is staying in Boca.
W(100%) WKU - 100% chance to beat the Hilltoppers. Only because the fans are so down on their coaches, they would say the same.
W(85%) UNT - Good coach, good QB, no defense. Do things change, or does FAU run all over the (not so)mean green defense?
W(90%) Charlotte - Now that Judy’s gone Charlottes’s chances of winning have increased 10%!

I’m going to be optimistic and say we beat the golden boys from up north (UCF), 11-1 Go Owls!

Careful with your mouth honey, it is a wonderful thing but can turn sour real quick. Yes we lost this season and will most likely next season but the magical thing about FB is the tables turn real quick unless a team is perennially crap and even those have fluke seasons once in a while. I can list you ten different reasons why we lost which will definitely come across as excuses and you need to be Monarch to see them otherwise so. Anyways Good Luck this season except when playing us because you don't need luck to win playing ODU this season.

I’m going to talk my stuff while I can. I should add a disclaimer because these are meant to be lighthearted jabs. Good luck next year, and remember I’m always rooting for you when you play FIU. Stay classy 04-cheers

I’m just waiting for the Old Guard to chime in. I need to be put in my place by football programs started before World War I.

RE: How Do You See Your Football Team Finishing In 2018
@ Oklahoma - This will be interesting for three quarters as our top guys will compete against theirs, in the fourth quarter, we will realize our #2s are no match. Loss by 14.
vs. Air Force Academy - AFA is not having their best times in football. They are going to improve in 2018, but we are a better team. Win by 17
vs. Bethune Cookman College - Win by 40
@ UCF - This will go down to the wire. But, I believe, at home, the Knights will win by virtue of the last TD. Loss by 4.
@ MTSU - MTSU still have some of that mystique against us and I expect them to be at full strength. I think we have more quality but this will not be easy. Win by 7
vs. ODU - They QB is going to 18 and much more experienced. He has a pile of talent. But what about their D-line? (Sorry, I culdn't help it) Win by 14
@ MRSH - Marshall was the toughest out for us during the 10-game winning streak. They seem to possess the quality and the toughness to compete with us. Loss by 3
vs. LaTech - I think Tech's defense will not hold up. Win by 17
@ FIU - Golden panthers may be the most improved team in the conference in 2018. And that is on top of their 2017 improvement. I do believe that we are still a superior team, though. But just brealy. Win by 7.
vs. WKU - For once, I will agree with Topper fans. Win by 17
@ UNT - The result will be based on UNT's defense's improvement. I suspect we still run roughshod over them. Win 63-38.
vs. Charlotte - As has become habitual, Charlotte, for a very strange reason are a difficult opponent for us. They will be once again. Win by 13
Conference Championship vs. USM. This will be an interesting match-up of strong offenses. In that regard, 2017 Conference Championship comes to mind. Win by 10
Bowl game - Boca Raton Roto Rooter Bowl vs. 7-6 Hawaii. Win 63-3.

11-3, 7-1 with a second consecutive Conference title. All this, of course, is predicated on a stable coaching situation.

Season:
2018 Marshall Thundering Herd Football Schedule
Saturday Sep. 1
at Miami (OH) RedHawks - W - should win this game, but a rivalry game on the road is always tough, especially with a new OC and DC, and first game for new QB.

Saturday Sep. 8
Colonels
Eastern Kentucky Colonels - W - tune up. Wish it was first game
Joan C. Edwards Stadium, Huntington, WV
Time TBA TV TBA

Saturday Sep. 15
at South Carolina Gamecocks - W - SC not invinciblr by any means. Won our last trip down, and they have Georgia the week before which could be an emotional deflating loss. I believe our Defense can most definitely hold their own, but can we score?

Saturday Sep. 22
NC State Wolfpack - L - putting an L here, because i believe we will split the games with USC and NC state, not living on a fantasy idland. With Cramsey, and the surprise QB grad xfer, i think our offense vastly improves and our defense is full of studs and Fuller shoul have some continuity. Stadium will be rockin for this game. Looking forward to it.

Saturday Sep. 29
Hilltoppers
at WKU Hilltoppers - W - getting them early and im glad.

Saturday Oct. 6
Blue Raiders
Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders - W - We don't lose this one st home.

Saturday Oct. 13
Monarchs
at Old Dominion Monarchs - W

Saturday Oct. 20
Owls
Florida Atlantic Owls - probably shoulf have won on the road last year. Offense will be better and defense slightly improved. I think we hold serve at home. This may be a loss every other year as home teams will likely steal these games until kiffin leaves.

Saturday Nov. 3
Golden Eagles - L - our wtf loss on the road

Saturday Nov. 10
49ers
Charlotte 49ers - W

Saturday Nov. 17
Roadrunners
UTSA Roadrunners - W and nice revenge from that head scratcher last season.

Saturday Nov. 24
Golden Panthers
at FIU Golden Panthers - Toss up - L - think this can go either way, but i got a bad feeling about it being the last game and FIU will be tough.

9-3 (6-2) probable.

I think that's a reasonable guess after the 0-12 season. Lots of starters back on both sides of the ball but is that really a good thing? New infusion of talent at the skill positions.

I see the Miners going 2-2 vs OOC games with NMSU coming to EP no longer having multi-year starter at QB and losing their great RB, Rose. Plus a win in the home opener vs fcs NAU. Losses at Tenn and UNLV, although the UNLV game in not an impossible win for UTEP. Not likely though.

In conference play there should be a few vulnerable teams with UTEP getting a friendly bounce of the ball to win 2.

9-1 vs. SMU - W, New coach, and Sutton is gone.
9-8 vs. Incarnate Word- W, Buy a win.
9-15 @ Arkansas- L, New coach, but it is Morris, and he has our number.
9-22 @ Liberty- W, Too much offense for Liberty.
9-29 vs. LA Tech- W, conference opener at home.
10-6 @ UTEP- W, It could take years for UTEP to fix their problems.
10-13 vs. Southern Miss- W, Home field and offense should be too much for USM
10-20 @ UAB- L, Clark and UAB are too much on the road.
10-27 vs. Rice- W, Rice needs more time under a new coach.
11-10 @ ODU- W/L, ODU will be better at home.
11-17 vs. FAU- L, We were not competitive in either game last season.
11-24 @ UTSA- W/L, So much hate in this series. It could go either way.

North Texas should finish the regular season somewhere between 9-3 to 7-5.

I would say Rice is 4-8 to 5-7. I wish the conf USA schools would stop playing such powder puff schools. Also why are we playing in the Bahamas bowl? A complete waste of time.

It's really too soon to make any kind of reasonable prediction for Old Dominion. We have about 8 starters returning on both offense and defense. College Football News predicted the Monarchs to go 3-9, and I think that's a little harsh. I suspect we will be no less than 5-8 and possibly as good as 8-4. So much is dependent on QB play these days -- I will need to see Steven Williams in the spring game before making a final guess.

Based on the fact that we beat LA Tech this past season, when we had no defense, and what we are bringing back next season, I have no idea why you find this prediction funny.
