Wow, really don't like that idea.

Yeah we're all scratching our heads about that.

2020 in Greenville
2021 in Huntington

No need to schedule a series that far out, with Marshall.

I wouldn't have minded playing them last year and next year instead of NCCU and Towson but it wouldn't work out because of out lopsided scheduling with SEC teams. If the Marshall games are bumping out a P5 opponent then that sucks, but if they are replacing FCS opponents, it's fine.

I really don't think it's that big of a deal. We all love to hate on Marshall here but Cincinnati plays at Miami (OH) next season and Temple plays at Charlotte. UConn plays at UMass in 2016 and Houston played at UTSA in 2013.

You can make the argument against AAC teams playing Gof5 teams but that is the same argument we get all up in arms about when it looks like P5 games against us are going away (see threads about Duke/NCSU and UNC/Wake scheduling OOC games). If ECU is going to play P5 teams out of conference, which we haven't done a whole lot recently, it should probably be against USM/Marshall or maybe App State based on history.

Fans of the AAC see our conference as being unique (I don't know if this is right or wrong) in being between the P5 and other Gof5 conferences but we are talking out of both sides of our mouths. If the P5 not playing us is a bunch of BS then so is our schools not playing Gof5s. We scoff at the P5 for trying to create an exclusive club and separate themselves from us and then we want to do the same to Marshall and co.
