RE: anyone watching the new Star Trek show?
I've only seen the first 2 episodes. I don't like the opening credits. I don't like the excessive Klingon. Plug in the universal translator already. The story has been good. Not as dark as I expected.

I think the personal relationships are there - like when Michael gives Saru a hip-check to so she can use the terminal he is at. A moment later he does the same thing to get the terminal back. At one point Saru explains his race was at one time basically livestock. Odd, considering he is 7-feet tall and weighs 82 pounds.

Another example is when the captain says something like, "Make a note in the log: On this day my senior officers actually agreed." Michael responds with, "Is sarcasm necessary?" The captain replies, "Necessary? No."

I am not a fan of Abrams Star Trek. If you take away the names, does anything in any of his Trek movies remind you of Star Trek? They are good movies, just not Star Trek. A bit OT there but it really bugs me.
