Its October and Halloween: favorite horror movies?
ME PERSONALLY:

As a Halloween tradition I always watch The Exorcists I-III Halloween night.
*I'd rank them as I>II~= III Now as far as IV goes, and its two versions.... I like them, but they are so different than the "original trilogy"

Friday the 13th:
FAVES: I, II, and VII. Hated III and VIII. IV, V, and VI, aka the Tommy Jarvis trilogy were decently watchable. I did like that rebooted version from a few years ago.

Halloween:
I liked I and II a lot. 3 was just weird... its not BAD, but without Michael Meyers it didn't feel right. 4 & 5 were ok--liked 5 a little more. H20 was ok--a good one to bring back Laure Stroud. TCoMM was ok--interesting backstory additions. Resurrection, eh... I liked how they wanted to do this--maybe not so much the result--its watchable though.

A Nightmare on Elm Street. My faves from the series are 1-3 and New Nightmare. 4,5, and Freddy's Dead are ok.... but the others are much better. I personally thought in that reboot they did a few years ago that Freddy was MUCH meaner and cooler... and the new guy playing him did a good job of making the character his own thing.

Scream. 1 and 2 were legit. 3 was really stretching my threshold for where the franchise was going. I thought 4 was good in kind of inspired in a way.

Others I like/have watched and liked

The Shining
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Johnny Depp version)
The Haunting
Christine
Maximum Overdrive
The Hand that Rocks the Cradle
Young Frankenstein ( LOL )
Freddy vs. Jason was not bad for what it was.
Silent Hill and its sequel were pretty good IMO.
Saw I and II were ok as far as I recall but I haven't watched any of the ones after that.
The Sixth Sense was good.
Stir of Echoes
Hollowman

Hellraiser(s) -- never got into it I believe I have seen all the originals in the series.
Phantasm (s)-- hated
Poltergeist(s) -- ok, didn't do much for me.

Urban Legends and I Know What You Did Last Summers were decent but I haven't watched them in a LONG time.
