lets look-
Rider (MAAC) ranked 139 in KP. Iona won conference tourney, ranked in KP 134.
UNC-Asheville (Big South) ranked 191 in KP. Radford won conference tourney, ranked in KP 170
Northern Kentucky (Horizon) ranked 96 in KP. Wright St won conference tourney, ranked in KP 136
FGCU (ASun) ranked 130 in KP. Lipscomb won conference tourney, ranked in KP 164
Wagner (NEC) ranked 172 in KP. LIU Brooklyn won conference tourney, ranked in KP 250

so in 2/5 places, the winner was actually better than the conference regular season champ. In Horizon and ASUN, 2nd place team won the conference. In NEC, the 4 seed won on the 1 seed's home floor.
