But... JJ was left with a way worse situation to start than Rick. Look at me.
Harper didn't exactly leave the program in good shape. What as there, like 2 returning players or something crazy like that? Stans had to grab a ton of Grad transfers then this year we only had Johnson return. I don't know all the details of what JJ walked into, but Rick had to work hard to turn this around to where it is in just 2 years as well.
That's true. The situations could be quite comparable. JJ hasn't made any big splashes and is taking his sweet time building up. Rick has definitely accomplished more in his short time at WKU compared to JJ at ODU, make no mistake about it.
The years kind of blend together over time, but wasn't JJ in the exact same position (NIT Final 4) in the same amount of time? You could even argue JJ's season was better given they were in the at large conversation and got the NIT 1 seed as the first 4. Of course that would change if Stansbury wins the thing.

Yea but look at who ODU beat to get to MSG in 2015, unreal the draw they had, Charleston Southern, Illinois St. and Murray. all at home...WKU still needs to have a good showing in MSG, but beating BC, @USC, @Oklahoma st. is impressive to say the least...Our guys should be prepared one we hit MSG floor Tuesday night win or lose.....Would be interesting to see a gauntlet like WKU has gone to get this far in this NIT, hard to imagine a harder road to make to MSG for a so called "mid major"....
I agree the draw was easier. But, don't get too hung up on the names. Murray State and Illinois State were top 60 teams. Charleston Southern was not good. BC is 75, USC 51, Ok State 59, and Utah 57.
