Yup. I have Prime (for shipping reason) and alternate between Netflix and Hulu depending on what I feel like watching that month. Both services are REALLY good about cancelling and restarting memberships. However, I just purchased a OTA DVR. With my Antenna+ DVR I probably be able to reduce my Hulu usage.

I pay for Prime on a yearly subscription. I think it's $99 a year. I got the yearly ESPN+ package for $50. And I usually have one or the other for Netflix/Hulu+, so that's another $12 a month.

My monthly interent/tv usage comes to ($55-internet + $8.25-Amazon + $4.16-ESPN + $12-Netflix or Hulu) $79 bucks and change.

Mix in the channels I get from my antenna and the free stuff from Crackle/CBSNews and I am glad I don't pay for cable TV.

We pay $82.69 for Direct TV -- total, including all taxes and fees. We have the "Choice" package.

Same with us and then add the Fox Sports during football season and drop it once CUSA basketball season ends.

Those that want to compare their "$200 cable/Direct bill to all the savings they get from a $40 streaming package....

are trying to pull the wool over someones eyes

They might be paying $200 but they are the ones that added all the extra, like movie channels and a higher pay package.

One other thing about streaming packages and Direct. With streaming, you start watching a show in the family room with your wife. Then you want to go to the bedroom to watch while trying to sleep. The ones I tried I always got...."this show is streaming on another device". Other words, you can't watch the same show on two different TVs. Direct, you can watch it on all 4 TVs at once. Or if you are out of town, you can watch it on your Laptop while its being shown at home. Cant do that with streaming. Or better yet....

You have a friend or family member that lives somewhere else. It's easy to give them your DirectV log in info and they can watch any thing that's in your package. My son is doing this right now so he dropped his cable and Hulu. Signs into the Direct app and watches what he wants.

Dont for a minute think the price you pay today is going to be the price you pay in 12 months or 18 months. Once the streaming services have enough bodies signed up...

cost will go up

They are no different than cable, cheap at the start but once they get enough bodies...the price starts to increase a dollar here a dollar there. Today state and local taxes are not in that cost....it will be soon. Just as its in the cable and Direct bill

Apples to Apples a family that enjoys watching TV will get a lot more from A Direct Choice package. A single person, maybe not.

We have 3 young kids and every day is a challenge just getting everything done (soccer, karate, baseball, gymnastics, basketball, homework, etc, etc ). It is very nice to be able to DVR or pause a game, if I cannot watch it live.

To some saving $15 or $20 dollars a month is important but keeping 3 kids happy and not fighting over a TV is priceless :) life is all about tradeoffs

These younger cord cutters will jump through hoops to save that $15 to $20 (doubt if its that much) on cable then go out and blow it in the first week.....on coffee

could have paid $1 a cup instead of $4 or $5 each at Starbucks.
