I agree. The non-conference will suffer in any conference affiliation, like Hopkins having to trade out some of its games for Big Ten ones.
Count me as one who also sees B1G-PAC resurfacing, even if downscaled a bit, and including lacrosse. I still believe this one will eventually happen, and with it is the added commitment of games with the respective other in the non-conference. Picturing Denver lax in a PAC with that arrangement, I don't know if that makes things more lucrative. Denver getting UMD or Hopkins would be great...maybe PSU and Rutgers can help, since it's a good territory to be seen. This is a sport with a heavy tradition from Virginia on north...there's only so many games one can play and schedule, and that gets harder to do if you're in a completely different part of the country. IMO, geography and travel is the real reason there isn't lacrosse west of Denver, or the large gap between UD and AFA and the midwest. It won't be cheap fielding lacrosse out on that coast.
